Please specify within your supporting statement which specialties you would prefer to work in: Endocrinology- This is an exciting opportunity to create an area of excellence with a new dedicated team.Contact Liz Smith, Senior Sister on 01603 287383 Acute Medical Unit- We offer a friendly and supportive environment to develop a vast range of knowledge and skills in caring for acutely unwell patients, with the opportunity to rotate to other areas within the Emergency Care Centre.Contact Matron Suzanne Nurse on 01603 646507 Cardiology -includes the Coronary Care Unit, a 37 Bed Ward, 12 bed cardio elective bay and 3 cardiac cath labs. We provide opportunities to develop skills in all areas of acute cardiology.Contact Senior Sister Helen Huson on 01603 286370 Gastroenterology(including Guist Ward)-We are an expanding department; posts may include rotation across the two areas, Guist ward and the endoscopy unit. The endoscopy unit undertakes therapeutic and diagnostic procedures including bowel cancer screening.Contact Matron Kay Marrison on 01603 646481 Henderson Re-enablement Unit -The Unit looks after people for up to 2 weeks, following an acute hospital stay. We help users of the service with all aspects of regaining mobility, confidence and independence, in preparation for returning to their usual place of residence.Contact Jo Walmsley, Operational Manager on 01603 646684 Neurology (Dunston Ward) -We specialise in the care of Neurological conditions and Older Peoples Medicine. We offer a varied and diverse experience, caring for complex neurology patients; patients with tracheostomies, as well as patients post Neuro-surgery.Contact Matron Sue Tuck on 01603 289907 Older Peoples' Medicine -We care for patients requiring short stay or acute care, and those on dementia and fractured neck of femur pathways.
