Main DutiesPolicies, procedures, registration and legal/compliance.o    To be fully committed to and ensure that all agreed company aims and objectives, policies and procedures, including Child protection and Equal opportunities, are followed at all times.o    To support the manager in ensuring that requirements of the current National Standards for full day care and the children’s act 1989, whilst ensuring you have the correct documents and paperwork.Teamwork and supervision:o    To work as part of the team in a designated room.o    To carry out other duties as determined by the Nursery Manager/ Deputy Manager and attend appropriate training.o    To encourage positive behaviour by presenting your self as a role model.o    To liase with outside agencies such as: health visitors, environmental health, Ofsted, as appropriate.o    To assist with action on issues raised through Ofsted, Environmental Health and Quality Assurance Inspections.Main Dutieso    To be responsible for overall Hygiene, health and safety within the Kitchen.o    To keep to an agreed budget then buy or order sufficient food for the whole week.o    To organise and prepare healthy, well-balanced meals on a daily bases, for all children within the setting (including any children with special dietary requirements).o    To record cooking temperatures, Fridge and Freezers temperatures and file paperwork appropriately.o    Keep all stock rotation forms up to dateo    Help to serve meals whenever possible.o    Wash all crockery and cutlery and store appropriately.o    Following a cleaning schedule, which includes, cleaning cookers, cleaning cupboards etc.o    To assist and suggest idea’s when reviewing the weekly menuso    To assist the manager with any risk assessments concerning the kitchen or serving the food.o    Ensure all tea towels, oven cloves etc, are washed and dried ready for the next time you require them.o    To be aware of all allergy requirementsHealth and safetyo    To be aware of, and carry out duties in connection Health and Safety at work, including risk assessments, Allergies, H+S law, Coshh and riddor etc.o    To ensure equipment and materials are cleaned and cleared away at the end of the day. Whilst ensuring they are in good condition and safe to use.o    To be familiar, and carry out procedures such as fire drill, first aid, o    To maintain a high standard of hygiene throughout at all times and to follow infection control procedures.Self Development / Continuous Development:o    To identify own training needs in conjunction with the Nursery Managero    To maintain up to date knowledge of changes in professional/ relevant legislationo    To develop own knowledge and skills by attending relevant training.Qualifications and experience required.o    Previous cooking experienceo    A recognized Food hygiene qualificationo    Health and safety qualification preferred.
