Capita PIP have been awarded a managed service contract by the Department for Work and Pensions (DWP) and the Northern Ireland Social Security Agency (NI SSA) for the provision of Personal Independence Payment (PIP) Assessment Services. The changes agreed as part of the Welfare Reform Act will see the current Disability Living Allowance (DLA) replaced by PIP. The PIP contract for Central England, Wales & Northern Ireland will see Capita Health and Wellbeing set up and deliver assessment services on behalf of the DWP/NI SSA for new PIP applicants and all current DLA claimants to be re-assessed for PIP eligibility over the life of the contract. As one of our Disability Assessors you will be working at an assessment centre or conducting assessments in people’s homes. You will have a schedule of assessments each week and be expected to complete this schedule along with the associated assessment reports. As a Disability Assessor, you’ll: Interview people to understand their condition and how it affects their day-to-day livesReview and understand supporting evidence (e.g. the customer’s completed questionnaire and information from GPs or other Health Professionals)Produce and present comprehensive structured and impartial reports to the DWP and DfCWe provide intensive training, on-going support and Continuing Professional Development (CPD) to ensure each and every report meets the required standards. Location: Home/Field based but you will be expected to travel to claimant’s homes & relevant Capita sites. Mon-Sat 08:00- 20:00 FT contract 37.5hrs Duties Include:·         Meet face to face with customers and  ascertain how  their  health condition and/or disability affects their daily lives and mobility·         Conduct  observations and assessments on an individual’s capacity to carry out functional activities  ·         Analyse and interpret clinical information and supporting evidence to support assessment·         Compile a comprehensive report in a professional and concise manner  including  a detailed history  a full justification and conclusion from evidence gathered  to support  DWP ( or DfC) in their decision-making·         Ensure reports meet PIP requirements and are produced to a high standard (Grade A reports) ·         Work to ensure the productivity and quality targets, established by Capita PIP to meet its contractual Service Level Agreements,  are met·         Utilise MI review and feedback systems to support improved quality and performance and take ownership of any feedback to aid own personal and professional development.·         Maintain and evidence personal Continuous Professional Development (CPD), Online Mandatory Training (OMT) and ensure continuing professional registrationDevelop own clinical knowledge of the functional impacts of health conditions less familiar to youKey Skills & Experience:Experience ·         Two years post-registration experience as an Occupational Therapist (OT), Physiotherapist, Nurse, Paramedic or Doctor with a licence to practise·         Evidence of Continuing Professional Development·         Use of Microsoft Office packages anduse of remote connections and secure access to systemsSkills ·         Excellent  observational  and decision-making skills·         Effective listening, probing, questioning, conversation management skills·         Ability to work at a pace, set boundaries, manage conversations and keep to timescales·         Ability to relate to people from a range of socio-economic backgrounds, races, religions and cultures·         Report writing skills·         Ability to type whilst conducting an assessment ·         Ability  to deal with a high percentage of work using a  laptop and IT systems  Essential Qualifications/Skills/Experience:·         Must be fully registered without restriction or conditions with the NMC/HCPC / GMC or relevant UK regulatory body, with a valid PIN. ·         Must have 2 years post registration experience as an Occupational Therapist (OT), Physiotherapist, Nurse, Paramedic or Doctor. ·         Hold a full UK Driving Licence with access to a car.In Return You Will Receive:- A basic salary of £34,000 per annum- Opportunity to earn up to £3,000 quality bonus- Family friendly hours- Excellent clinical training & development opportunities- Pension - Healthcare- 23 days holiday + bank holidays (rising per year of service)- Focus on CPDTo Apply Please Email Your CV to Capita PIP is an equal opportunities employer.
