Advert for Occupational Therapist/Care Co ordinator, Band 6,North Trafford Locality Functional CMHT.Greater Manchester West Mental Health NHS Foundation Trust (GMW) is delighted to have joined forces with Manchester Mental Health and Social Care NHS Trust (MMHSCT) from 1st January 2017. The new integrated organization will provide inpatient and community-based mental healthcare to people living in Bolton, Salford, Trafford and the city of Manchester, with specialist services covering Greater Manchester and beyond. This change offers a unique opportunity to take a leading role in the implementation of the Greater Manchester Mental Health and Wellbeing Strategy and to support the delivery of key priorities around prevention, access, integration and sustainability.An exciting opportunity for a band 6 Occupational Therapist / Care Coordinator, has arisen within the North Trafford Functional CMHT. We are looking for a highly skilled, enthusiastic and experienced occupational therapist to join our fully integrated multidisciplinary team. As a CMHT we offer a service to individuals aged between 16 and 70, with severe and enduring mental health related difficulties and we strive to provide a recovery based focus to the service users under our care. As a team we operate between the hours of 9 am and 5pm, 7 days a week, 365 days. Therefore there will be a requirement to cover some weekends. The successful applicant will be expected to manage caseload of clients within the Community Mental Health Team with mental health needs, using evidence based/client centred principles to assess, plan, implement and evaluate interventions. They will also be expected to conduct specific Occupational Therapy Assessments of identified clients and provide associated reports to support the care planning process. Additionally you will also be required to participate in the duty rota of the team and support students on placement. Experience of working in a community setting is essential, as you will be expected to provide clinical and professional expertise to the team as required.
