If so, we have the ideal OT role for you Charlesworth Ward is a female acute ward within the Lincolnshire partnership Foundation Trust Which is AIMS accredited by the Royal College of Psychiatrists. It’s a 20 bedded ward for people of working age 18-65 who are experiencing acute mental health difficulties. Applications are invited from highly motivated and dynamic candidates with a “can do” attitude to deliver the Trusts Vision and Values and help to improve our patient experience within acute care services.To be successful in this role, you will need to be self–motivated, enthusiastic and empathetic to the needs of patients' during the acute stage of a mental health episode. You will be required to have excellent communication skills, be resourceful, and keen to demonstrate the distinctive contribution and added value the Occupational Therapist can offer the multi-disciplinary team.Utilising the Model of Human Occupation as a conceptual model for clinical practice, the post holder will provide specific assessments which will enable a clear formulation of the patients’ needs, and establish aims and recommendations for occupationally focused treatment interventions.The role involves:Completing O.T. specific assessmentsJoint care planning and treatment delivery within the MDT teamDemonstration of your ability to effectively manage a caseload on a busy ward and in the community setting Development/facilitation of individual and group work, personalised to meet client needsDeveloped communication skills to be an effective clinician and team player.If successful you will be part of the well-established multi-disciplinary team, offering both group and one to one interventions in an acute phase of illness. This may require you to work flexibly at times to support the established therapeutic activities programme.You will be provided with professional and clinical supervision from a Senior Occupational Therapist; engage in the preceptorship process if required; and have access to relevant development opportunities. Previous experience of adult mental health services is preferred either post registration or as a student placement.
