The post holder will also be responsible for other online selling platforms such as Gumtree. Key TasksTo meet the agreed sales targets, maximising turnover and minimising costs.To be proactive in the identification and generation of suitable eBay stock, working predominantly with the retail distribution centre and other colleagues across the retail operation.To maximise sales through identifying appropriate items, researching potential values and ensuring stock is appropriately priced, marketed and where appropriate Gift Aid is claimedTo organise the sorting, photographing and up-loadingof all merchandise.To manage a consistent number of items listed on eBay ensuring they are accurately presented and described.To ensure sold items are packaged appropriately and dispatched timeously, ensuring a high level of customer service.To ensure all reporting, cash handling, and security procedures are followed precisely and all relevant administration is accurately completed and reported within agreed timescales.To record income generated by individual shops from online salesTo ensure there is a sufficient number of volunteers to support the effective operation of the eBay function.To train, motivate and manage volunteers ensuring they are competent to carry out designated dutiesTo be aware of current trends in online selling and identify suitable on line and social media outletsTo develop initiatives to improve the performance of the eBay function.To ensure the effective day to day supervision of Health and Safety in relation to work area and associated work activities and ensuring compliance with Strathcarron Policies and ProceduresTo maintain excellent customer feedback from the eBay site and respond to customer enquiries.To attend Area Retail Meetings in the Hospice, as required.KEY SKILLSOn line eBay selling experienceExcellent interpersonal skills and ability to work well with colleagues and volunteers.IT skills, working Cybertill, Microsoft Office and the Strathcarron Hospice WebsiteStrong numerical and written skills including financial record keeping, with an ability to provide accurate timeous financial/trading performance reportsAbility to work to and meet deadlines.Excellent time management and organisational skills.Ability to prioritise workload to meet conflicting deadlines  STRATHCARRON HOSPICE RETAIL Terms and Conditions:The terms and conditions of service are those laid down in line with the Agenda for Change handbook. Location: Strathcarron Hospice. Salary Scale:Band 2: £16,532 - £18,903 per annum pro rataHours:Part Time: 20 hoursEmployees may be required to vary the pattern of their working week subject to the exigencies of the service. Duration:Permanent. Annual Leave:27 days rising to 29 days after 5 years’ service and to 33 days after 10 years’ service plus 8 public holidays (pro rata).Or 202.5 hours rising to 217.5 hours after 5 years’ service and to 247.5 hours after 10 years’ service plus 60 hours public holiday (pro-rata) Sick Leave & Pay:In accordance with Strathcarron Hospice provisions.Superannuation:This post is superannuable under The Falkirk Council Local Government Superannuation Scheme and your remuneration will be subject to deduction unless you choose to opt out of the scheme.  Right to work in the UK:Strathcarron Hospice has an obligation to ensure it does not employ any worker who has not been granted the relevant permission to work in the UK.
