This is a full time position working 37.5 hours per week Monday to Friday.Main dutiesGreeting and assist visitors to practice.Managing switchboard including answering, recording and relaying messages promptly and accurately.Organising daily clinic diary for optometrists.Carry out minor adjustments, repairs and frame selection under supervision understanding when to refer a patient on to another professional within the company.Taking payments and dealing with sales of glasses / contact lenses.Preparing client record cards, paperwork for clinics and NHS.Issuing reminder and confirmation letters to patients.Unpacking and checking deliveries of glasses and contact lenses for Dispensing Opticians.Entering patient information onto computer system.Collating and distributing post.Managing stock levels of solutions / canteen. Balancing till at end of day and banking.Opening and closing practice including preparing rooms and cleaning equipment.Work towards achievement of monthly KPI’sResponsible toTeam Leader / Operations Manager CriteriaEssential DesirableQualificationsGood standard of education.Maths & English grade C or above at GCSE level or equivalent.ExperienceCustomer service experience – both face to face and over telephone.Experience of working in a retail environment.Experience of working on own initiativeExperience in an optical receptionist position.KnowledgeComputer literateUnderstanding of patient confidentiality.Knowledge of working in an optical environmentComputerised booking systemsSkills / abilitiesExcellent communication skills.Team player.Flexible and able to adapt to different work environments / teams.Organised and methodical.Self motivatedBe able to listen and interpret patients needs.Pleasant telephone manner. Other job related factorsMust be happy to work on your own in the practice.  To apply for this position please download an application form from our website .
