PAINTERS X 8 (FTC 12 MONTHS) SIZEWELL B POWER STATION   Workplace Solutions Sizewell B Power Station, Nr Leiston, suffolk IP16 4UR  Workplace Solutions are recruiting for Painters to be based at Sizewell B Power Station, Nr Leiston, suffolk IP16 4UR. This is a 12 month fixed term  full time role, working 37 hours per week Monday to Thursday 08:00 to 16:30. Friday 08:00 to 13.30. On offer is a competitive salary and benefits package.General OverviewThis role will require the successful candidate to work on the  removal of old finishes by stripping, sanding, wire brushing or use of abrasive wheels (grinders). Application of paint, stain, varnish, enamel, and other finishes to equipment, buildings, floors and/or other structures using brushes,reporting directly to the Painting Chargehand.All applicants must be able to be vetted before appointment. This is part of the recruitment process.To be successful in this role you must provide the following:All your addresses for the last 5 years and the dates you lived thereyour National Insurance numberA debit or credit cardProof of your identity, for example a passport, valid driving licence or birth certificateMain Responsibilities/Duties Include:Technical Competences: Knowledge of the principles, methods, and techniques used in the painting tradeAwareness of risk assessment and working safely with equipmentKnowledge of preparation techniques and use of painting materials and toolsAbility to read and interpret drawings, plans & follow both verbal and written work instructions Use and maintenance of the tools of the painting trade safely and skilfully.Ability to erect and work from ladders and scaffolds safely.Ability to safely work at height, and in environments that may have contain dust or fumesPlanning & Organising:Work with appropriate line supervisors to ensure that tasks are planned and delivered to client specification and agreed service requirements.Plan and prioritise workShows clear understanding of role objectives and responsibilities.Work schedules and projects are prioritised appropriately and delivered on time.An ability to work under pressure taking ownership of all delegated tasks ensuring that all work is of a high standard.Operational Responsibilities:Ensure compliance with statutory and company procedures, maintaining up to date knowledge of H/S and Environmental regulationsProvide out of hours cover where requiredComplete relevant paperworkCompliant with all safety related policies and proceduresIdentification and reporting of areas and procedures that fail to meet expected standards (Safety, Technical and Environmental)Appropriate risk assessments undertaken on all work.Rectifies problems where appropriate (ensuring that the correct procedures are followed)All paperwork completed (permits, reports and work order cards) is accurate and submitted within set time scales.Teamwork:Establish good working relationships with other team members, provide guidance to others (e.g. apprentices)Willingly contribute to the overall team and company objectives, responding quickly to new directives    Contributes to pre-job briefs, exchanging ideas and putting forward suggestions to improve team performance.Positive feedback from other team members.Good communication skills, with the ability to communicate at all levels in a clear and concise manner.
