Applicants must have either completed the LLM LPC, LPC or M-Law qualification at UCLan within the last 12 months or be in the final year of any of these courses at UCLan.The successful applicant will primarily support the Contracts Managers within the University’s Legal and Governance Group in the drafting and negotiation of low risk contracts, primarily in relation to the University’s research and consultancy activity, with responsibility for specific types of agreements including the drafting and negotiating of confidentiality agreements, simple consultancy agreements and contract amendments. The successful applicant will possess a good understanding of key contract terms and conditions and basic legal principles of contract law. Utilising good analytical and problem solving skills, the successful applicant will have the ability to read and understand legal documents to accumulate relevant knowledge and will be able to apply such knowledge to arising challenges. Excellent interpersonal skills are essential in order to build and maintain effective working relationships with a wide range of colleagues and external organisations. Likewise, team working skills and an enthusiasm for self-development are core requirements for success in this position and will be underpinned by a cooperative and proactive approach to work.
