Our client has an exciting opportunity for an Accounts Assistant to join them for an 8-9 month contract covering maternity leave. Job Description:As an Accounts Assistant, you will provide purchase ledger and sales ledger support, enabling accurate and timely information to be delivered through the department. Duties for the Accounts Assistant role will include:Support the ledger team by registering and coding purchase invoices, and working with the business to develop the group's use of purchase ordersMaintain the company's sales ledger ensuring invoices are raised in a timely mannerSupport credit control, by maintaining accurate information within the sales ledger to allow for an effective debt collection cycleProvide end user support for the company's web-based purchase order processing systemPrepare accruals/prepayment schedules based on information held within the purchasing and finance systemsComplete a number of control accounts reconciliations across the group, including fixed assets and supplier statementsCandidate Requirements for the Accounts Assistant are: Experience in a similar accounts role including purchase ledger, sales ledger, credit control and statement reconciliationsAAT qualification desirable but not essentialExperience of working in a busy office environment and ability to work as part of a small teamExperience of computerised ledger systemsWorking knowledge of Microsoft Word and ExcelExperience of working on Sun Systems/P2P System advantageous but not essentialAAT qualification desirable but not essentialThis role would suit people who also have the following experience: Accounts Assistant, Accounts Clerk, Finance Clerk, Finance Assistant, Purchase Ledger, Sales Ledger, Ledger Assistant, Ledger Clerk.This role is based in Newcastle under Lyme and is commutable from Stoke on Trent, Stone, Stafford, Trentham, Hanley.Hours: Up to 22 hours per week, flexibleSalary: £9.35 per hourBrampton Recruitment are an independent Commercial and Accounts & Finance recruitment agency working in partnership with employers spanning Stoke on Trent, Staffordshire, Cheshire, and the Greater Manchester region.
