An exciting new position(s) has arisen for a consultancy based in Croydon. The ideal candidate will have at least 15 years experience working on commercial and retail building projects, NOT railways, highways or power stations. Candidates MUST possess client facing and team building skills.ResponsibilitiesManage multiple projects in a clear concise, co-ordinated manner meeting project deadlines and financial restraints for your respective discipline(s) i.e. Mechanical, Electrical, and Public Health. Take responsibility in the role of Principal Engineer and be the clients main point of technical contact and if required for the project as a whole. Work on your own initiative with minimal supervision on all technical aspects of your discipline. Maintain Professional Qualifications in line with the respective and appropriate Accreditation Body.To fulfil the duties below in part or full as required for the respective project.Duties-Work within a mechanical, electrical and public health (MEP) discipline team providing design and technical advice on projects in a discipline lead capacity.-Understand the project appointment and scope of work following a briefing from the senior management team.-Prepare a detailed design programme, considering our deliverables and the required design dependencies from others.-Provide information and agree input into a cost to complete schedule for the appointed work. Monitor your time weekly against the agreed costs.-Understand project costs and the impact of designs on the overall budget for the scheme.-Carry out condition surveys for the discipline for combining into an overall report and collate all findings for issue to the client.-Consider the feasibility of the project specific to the discipline and contribute to the overall feasibility study for the project.-Take into account maintenance and installation practices within the design.-Work in co-ordination with all other design team members, internal and external.-Attend meetings to represent their technical discipline and be able to convey other disciplines on behalf of ESP.-Manage time on project to suit deadlines and complete assigned tasks as stipulated by senior management team.-Understand the project risk allied to the project as a whole.-Complete detailed designs and supervise the work of others in this function.-Produce detailed and performance specification, room data sheets and equipment schedules for issue for the discipline subject to review by colleagues prior to issue.-Carry out detailed calculations appropriate to the discipline and review the work of others for accuracy.-Produce combined MEP Residual Risk Reports in accordance with the CDM regulations with input from other disciplines as required.-Show leadership in the promotion of sustainability and energy efficiency within designs.-Organise and participate in technical design reviews and carry out technical checks on the work of others.-Attend site and carry out appropriate site reports.-Visit sites as required to determine the quality of the installation process allied to the discipline and report to the client for the whole project.-Deal with day-to-day queries from site allied to the discipline and report to the client.-Communicate proactively and professionally with external design teams and clients, attending meetings in a professional manner. Prepare diligently for all meetings and issue a pre-prepared progress report to the meeting.-Raise any potential variations from agreed appointment with a member of the senior management team.-Implement and work to the ESP Ltd Quality Management System.-Be able to demonstrate acceptable technical writing skills and produce written reports.-Check work for compliance with good practice and the project brief.-Present work to the Senior Management Team for approval prior to issue.-Assist with the supervision of any senior, intermediate, trainee or graduate engineers.-Carry out defects inspections and report.-Input in to the witnessing of commissioning.-Comment on the as-fitted drawings and O&M documentation.-Attend staff meetings, CPD Days and company communication meetings as requested.-Complete timesheets on a weekly basis.-Regularly communicate with line manager and senior management team.-Proactively complete agreed performance objectives within the agreed timescales.-Input into the production of fee proposals and technical bids as required.-Input into QMS audits as and when required.-Understand the need to provide excellent client care and opportunities to develop additional business for the company.-Demonstrate good attention to detail and show pride in the work produced.-Display a good working understanding of IES where it applies to the discipline.-Display a good working understanding of RevitMEP, AutoCAD and other 3D design software.-Display a good working knowledge and understanding of the Microsoft Office suite of software.-Meet all deadlines and mile stones as agreed with the Senior Management Team, as well as any project related deadlines.-Adhere to the Companys H&S rules and procedures at all times.The employee shall also undertake any other duties as may reasonably be requested by the company.
