Our prestigious client is a global manufacturing business based in Washington, Tyne & Wear. Due to increase in business needs, they are now looking to recruit an experienced Production Engineer with a strong manufacturing / process improvement background. Role Requirements;Previous experience in an engineering, maintenance or process engineering environment.Delivering defined projects, such as; Full facility installations from concept to commissioningProject management of factory improvement and facilities projectsVision system introduction including needs analysis, specification, supplier assessment and selection, installation and prove-out to achieve design intentTo continually look for improvement in the engineering delivery of projectsProduce, issue and maintain technical documentation necessary to complete projectsProviding Engineering deliverables for projectsDevelop new processes to improve quality, cost, delivery, environmentShare best practice with other manufacturing plants within the groupAssist the Company in delivering smooth and effective support to the manufacturing businessGive support to and lead manufacturing engineering activities for identifying long term manufacturing strategiesEnsuring that Engineering standards are defined and achievedEnsuring that Engineering processes are in place and meet the business needs of the companyAnalysis of operational issues and installation of new equipmentAnalysis of the data found in charts, graphs and other forms of measuring information.Perform other manufacturing / production engineer activities as and when required.Ability Profile;Must be able to perform each of the above duties satisfactorilyMust demonstrate hands-on approach and multi skilled capability (electrical, mechanical and ideally software)Must hold a full current UK driving licence as the job holder may be required to travel for Company businessPrevious experience in an engineering, maintenance or process engineering environment is essential, with demonstrable experience of leading improvement projects, as well as:Identification, specification, implementation of process improvementsManagement of facility installation and other capital projects from concept to handoverManagement of facility refurbishment/improvement projectsDriving improvement using lean principlesProject management techniques, ideally MS Project capabilityEducation & SkillsIdeally time served in engineering or process industries discipline. Qualified to HNC or HND or equivalent as a minimumBatch or continuous process manufacture would be advantageousExcellent written and verbal communication skillsExcellent I.T. Skills - Word, Excel, Outlook etcAbility to work to strict deadlines and prioritiseMust have the ability to multi task, be self motivated and able to work autonomously as well as in a team environmentFlexibility to accommodate ever-changing working environment and demands placed upon itPossess a positive and professional attitudeMust be able to fit in to a culture where teamwork, empowerment and dedication are of utmost importance.
