Project Manager Location: Peterborough Salary: To £45,000 plus car allowance and benefits This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced Project Manager to join a special purpose machinery manufacturer. The ideal candidate will be of graduate calibre or equivalent and will come from a technical/process driven background. You will also be commercially aware and have experience of managing contractual and payment terms. Project Manager To manage projects assigned to you to maximise profitability for completion of the project to the contracted standard. To manage projects assigned to you to achieve the contracted schedule with efficient use of resources. To manage the risk on your projects to maximise profitability and adherence to schedule. To resolve problems as they arise in projects, mobilising the appropriate expertise where necessary. In particular, to manage site problems. To maintain good communication with the project team, in particular with the customer, gaining early notice of their issues and giving early warning of issues where appropriate. To manage changes to the project to the company's advantage - selling modifications where appropriate and agreeing achievable changes to schedule and specification. To keep records (both paper and electronic) to allow reference during and after the project execution. To report project status in the business as required. To collect payment from the customer when invoices become due, ensuring the relevant documentation is properly managed. To ensure our documentation is completed at the relevant stage of the project. To obtain sign-off from the customer at the close of the project, agreeing the start of warranty appropriately and getting feedback on our performance. To ensure site work is correctly managed, attending as much as required. To ensure the customer is informed of progress and is aware of their responsibility to progress the project. To provide sales support before ordertake when required. To plan the despatch schedule such that it suits contractual commitments and the installation schedule for maximum efficiency. To attend project meetings at the customer site as required, which may involve international travel.
