Regional Inventory Manager – Jewson – South West of England We have an excellent opportunity for a passionate and motivated Regional Inventory Manager to join our team. Working closely with the Jewson branch network you will use your knowledge and keys skills to ensure maximum stock availability, optimising sales from investments. Does this sound like you?What do we look for in a Regional Inventory Manager?Qualifications RequiredNumerical qualifications to A level or equivalent.CIPS Qualification (Desirable)Five years general stock control/multisite experience.Two years Buying/Purchasing experience.Merchanting or Fast moving consumer goods experience desirable.Knowledge, Skills & Experience RequiredProven team management capabilities.Delivering business critical results within predetermined budgets and timescales.A deep understanding of the Sales, Operations and Purchasing processes at all levels of the organisation.Knowledge of working capital management and financial processes, including write down mechanisms.Good analytical skills, processing large volumes of data to make effective decisions. Ability to manage and influence with a variety of stakeholders from MD, RD, AD to branch level.Managing a team to specific objectives and some through “dotted line” responsibility.Prevention of fraud through proven processes in stock management and suitable audit mechanisms.Working with suppliers to deliver improved inventory, availability and range Management.Competent user of suitable IT systems, eg. Kerridge, SAP Business Warehouse, Microsoft products, particularly Excel & Access.Delivering organisational and cultural change as part of a team.Key Results AreasDemonstrate improvements in:Product Availability, Overall Stock Value, excess stock levels, NMS/Stock Provision, Purchase Controls, Special Code Usage & Stock.Enhanced margin from better buying, & improved transport costs in relation to delivered sales.Ensure the Region operates to our strategic availability and service Aims97.5% availability of National Ranges.All Stock Targets must be achieved.Generate (c.£1m annually or as otherwise targetted) improved Working Capital & Cashflow.This being critical to our financial performance and our ability to generate new Initiatives and Capital expenditure.Effectively manage the Family Inventory Managers.Effectively manage all staff involved in purchasing either directly (FIM’s) of via matrix Management (BM’s) .Ensure system accuracy of inventory.Key Duties/ResponsibilitiesActively participate as part of the Regional Management Team to deliver sales and inventory objectives.Managing the FIM team for continual performance improvement.Guarantee product availability is ahead of target to optimise sales opportunity.Manage Inventory ahead of Total and 90 day stock budgets without fail.Prepare and maintain the operational and cultural practices for implementation of the DC through 2015/16.Set up and maintain an effective ABR system for all Branches.Implement an efficient internal supply chain including stock relocation and supplier returns logistics.Authorise all branch staff access to purchasing systems (and removing access if required).Cancel (via the FIM and Branch teams) any orders in breach of delegated authority/levels of cover.Implement and maintain an effective profile and range of stock within the National mandated, Regional and Family localised structures.Manage supplier availability and performance within criteria agreed with the Category team.Ongoing development of inventory management processes for efficiency and sales growth.Actively identify new product opportunities (continually grow our local range).Identify and manage branches with low sales of ranged stock (improve sales).Identify and report on National, act on local ranged stock with low demand. (exit low selling ranges).Work with all departments in the supply chain – Category, Marketing, Finance, Sales & Operations, in particular RD and AD’s.Manage stock security alongside regional operational and audit team.Manage reduction in use of special codes.Implement and maintain monthly order budgets to restrict purchasing, whilst not impacting sales.Implement new branches efficiently with the appropriate stock profile and system settings.Carry out any other duties as required and deemed reasonable by line management.On occasion, we receive significantly more applicants than expected for some vacancies and under such we reserve the right to bring forward the closing date of the advertisement.
