Following continuing improvements in the Stroke Service at Broomfield Hospital, additional investment has been secured, which provides us with the opportunity to further enhance our nursing workforce on the Stroke Unit.Do you want to make a difference to our stroke patients? Person Specification: The stroke service is a dynamic achieving the top classification of ‘A’ status for performance as rated by the Royal college of Physicians, SSNAP data collection 2016The stroke unit is a 25 bedded unit providing acute stroke care. This includes care for patients post thrombolysis and patients that return to us following thrombectomy treatment at a neighboring trust. In addition to this we have a further seven beds on Goldhanger ward providing acute stroke care. We offer a 24/7 acute stroke service that covers the Emergency department with a team of highly skilled specialist nurses.The trust is committed to supporting and developing its’ staff so opportunities for training and other development activities will be provided. All nurses working within the stroke service have the opportunity to complete comprehensive stroke specific competencies that provides an in depth knowledge of evidence based stroke care.
