Our Insights team is looking for a Research Manager to join them. You'll be the go to person when it comes to what matters to customers, how, when and where they interact with us and translating this into ‘so what’s next for customer, product, channel and campaign activities'. As a Research Manager at Wilko you'll be responsible for delivering insight to key stakeholders across the business and ensuring that the insight outputs are used effectively in both Strategic and Operational decision making to deliver actions which meet our brand values and objectives and targets. Specific responsibilities are for managing and delivering optimum insight from our brand tracker and customer satisfaction programs.Key Accountabilities for this role include:Accountability for understanding and responding to stakeholder insight needs, agreeing insight objectives, preparing insight briefs, recommending the most appropriate methodology and data sources to meet the requirement brief.Responsibe for sourcing insight through commissioning and then project managing the deliverables through external insight and data providers; delivering insights across the business at all levels up to and including board level in line with the Insight Plan.Developing and maintaining relationships with key agency suppliers; managing their work delivery on a day by day basis and ensuring work is delivered on time, on budget and to the quality standards set.Delivering periodic reporting and dashboards which provide an understanding of what matters to our customers and an evaluation of brand and customer experience of consumers and customers across all brand touch points including digital.Delivering insights which inform the strategic and operational activities of the marketing, category and channel teams by providing detailed understanding of current performance, competitive context and make recommendations for areas of improvement.Understanding the external and competitive market in which Wilko operates and the implications of this on both current and future strategies.Monitoring and reporting on trends in competitor behaviour, market, changing customer behaviours and future horizon trends which could impact on Wilko’s future business.Working with the wider Insight team to understand the implications of these trends in order to forecast future demand across all products and channels.Being the team expert on customer experience and brand perceptions.Working with the Senior Insight manager and Head of Group Insight to cascade insights across the organisation; ensuring insights are brought to life in an engaging way and the learnings and actions are communicated clearly through the use of presentations, visualisations tools and facilitation of workshops.Responsible for the development, testing and implementation of new analysis platforms and processes working with IT and external information agencies to provide fit for purpose solutions.Managing, coaching and mentoring the Insight Analyst.What we need from you:Degree level or equivalent education essential.Professional Marketing or Insights qualification desirable.Solid understanding of analysis and insights methodologies and models.Strong data, evaluation and interpretation skills.Strong listening, verbal and written communication skills. Will facilitate advising, guiding and inputting in meetings.Strong Powerpoint, Excel, and a user of data portals and insight platforms.Must be able to take insight briefs from non technical internal stakeholders and write research briefs which have clear objectives and deliverables.Must be able to provide clear insight from disparate sources which clearly communicate learnings and actions for the business.Must be able to translate research findings into the business implication and required actions.Strong listening and verbal skills to be able to guide, advise and input in meetings.Along with the above we would like someone who has significant experience of managing customer research in a large retail, services or financial organisation; experience of managing research, tracking surveys through external supplier, analysing qualitative and quantitative data and being able to identify the insight learning's.
