Applications are invited for a Research Manager to join the Understanding Inequalities research project. This project aims to create an ambitious and innovative programme of research to explore the causes and policy implications of social inequalities on Scottish society and to compare these with other countries.The post will be based in the School of Law at the University of Edinburgh, although the successful candidate will work with a multi-disciplinary team of academics from ten collaborating Universities and Research Organisations in the UK and abroad.We are looking for a candidate with considerable experience of research management and staff supervision, excellent planning and organisational skills, and the ability to project manage a strategically focused programme of research and public engagement. Applicants should have excellent communication and interpersonal skills, excellent IT skills including expertise in using databases and management information reporting systems, practical experience of dealing with budgetary and accounting procedures, and general experience of running a busy administrative office.This is a fixed term, part time (28 hours per week) contract until the end of September 2020.Salary Scale: £32,548 - 38,833 per annum pro rataClosing Date: 5pm (GMT) on Monday 9th October 2017 (interviews to be held week commencing 16th October, with a start date as possible thereafter).
