By applying for this role, the candidate accepts that over time this job description may be subject to change as the candidate's duties and job evolves. Job purpose:              To act under the direction and/or supervision of teacher and HLTA on the development and delivery of inclusive teaching and ensuring effective differentiation and support  or SEND students  within the provision on various EFA funded 16-25 programmes; Responsible for the accurate monitoring and recording of students’ progress towards personal RARPA targets alongside learning targets and supporting with wider multi agency interventions to provide support to students on programme identified as having additional support needs. To deliver person centered support to learners in accordance with their support plans and enable access to learning for all students and to assist the in the management of students within the Centre. Work will be carried out within the classroom or externally. From time to time and at our absolute discretion we may require you to perform other duties within your capabilities in order to meet our business needs.  Main responsibilities and duties1. To provide learning support that meets the needs and learning preferences of students identified as having a wide range of special educational needs and or disabilities including those with profound and complex needs and to provide personal care and support that meets the needs of students, including assistance at meal times, personal care and any other support that is required by the student.2. To use appropriate support strategies for working with groups or individuals to maximise learning opportunities and to engage and motivate learners and enable them to achieve RARPA targets leading to achievement of EHCP objectives; working with teacher and HLTA to support studentswith the use of assistive technology and promote independence.3. Contribute to planning, differentiation and target setting for students with teacher, HLTAand wider support team; including planning and preparing accredited and none accredited activities. 4. To ensure that classrooms are ready to receive students and ensureprovision effective and appropriate support for them and ensuring that students who have assistive technologies /personal aids to support learning are provided with relevant equipment and/or resources. 5. To support learners in developing their confidence and skills in preparing them for adulthood and in accessing center facilities by supporting learners to communicate effectively to enable them to understand and participate in learning and activities.6. To keep accurate records of learner attendance, RARPA activities/progress, medical records, multi agency communications, programme documentation including planning and attending annual reviews, pathway assessments, EHCP processes, progress reviews and pastoral reviews with students.7. To act as a key worker to a caseload of studentsmanaging RARPA objectives, providing pastoral and educational support, IAG and signposting to appropriate services as needed.8. To develop and provide documentation and evidence to support quality assurance requirements and to be an active participant in the company’s annual self-assessment and quality review process by ensuring the prompt collection and collation of data required by management.9. To assist in the production of statistical reports as required by management. Working with teacher and HLTA to undertake administrative duties and to function effectively as a member of the learning support team. 10. Develop effective relationships with internal and external stakeholders and partners as appropriate to the role including supporting events such as Open/Parents Evenings and Enrolment sessions, assist in promotion, publicity, advertising and media relations for the Company when required.14. Comply with and promote Companies Safeguarding, Data Protection and Health and Safety policies and procedures and to undertake recommended training as and when necessary.15. Identify, record, update and monitor and manage risk effectively.16. To demonstrate a consistent approach to achieving targets against Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) though responsiveness, effectiveness and efficiency.17. To complete all documents necessary to comply with Human Resources policies and ensure that all staffing records are accurate and up to date and demonstrate commitment and enthusiasm to promote the principle of equality and diversity in employment and service delivery.18. To ensure that you comply with Child Protection requirements as outlined in the Child Protection Policy and comply with its requirements to safeguard and protect the welfare of children and vulnerable adults, this is inclusive of radicalisation and extremism as part of the Protect Agenda and preparing for modern life in Britain.19. To promote the highest standards of Health and Safety practice in relation to all aspects of the duties of the role. Required knowledge and skills1. To hold a minimum of level 3 learning support qualification or willingness to undertake the appropriate training and development.2. To hold a minim level 3 health and social care qualification or willingness to undertake the appropriate training and development.3. To hold level 2 or equivalent qualifications in English and Maths.4. To have a minimum of 2years’ experience in working and supporting individuals with Learning Difficulties and or disabilities, including those with profound and complex support needs.5. An understanding of the support needs of students with learning difficulty, disability, profound and complex needs and mental health difficulties.6. An understanding of the needs of young people and adults in an education and/or care setting.7. Knowledge of the demands of working with external organisations, especially, for example, OFSTED, QAA, QCC, and Awarding Bodies.8. Awareness of current issues affecting the Further Education sector.9. Awareness of local and national education and training needs including the SEND agenda.  Required experience1. Proven ability to work within a variety of teams.2. Evidence of commitment to continuous professional development.3. Ability to liaise/communicate with a broad spectrum of individuals, groups.4. Excellent communication skills.5. Ability to meet deadlines and manage time efficiently.6. Ability to create strong links with others.7. Proven ability of understanding and input to QIP and SAR.8.
