It is also hoped that the successful candidate will bring further expertise and capability that will facilitate additional growth.Job Summary:The Company provides high-level Technical Assistance and project management services to clients in both the public and private sector in the UK and overseas. We offer our clients comprehensive services ranging from strategic advice, power systems planning, conceptual design and specification, through to project and construction management and supervision.The position is for a principal engineer to provide power system planning, design and studies services, directly interfacing with clients to meet their requirements, and fulfill the agreed scope of work to programme and to budget. This includes the preparation of well written reports and clear communication of issues and results.The role also requires the principal engineer to take responsibility for technical quality of deliverables, provide technical leadership and assist with the training and development of less experienced staff. The principal engineer will be expected to develop and maintain client relationships, and to assist with identifying, bidding and winning new work.The salary for this position is between £45K and £52K per annum. The closing date for this role is 22nd May 2018.About YouDesired Skills/ Experience:Proven experience in two or more of the following technical areas:-Distribution power system planning and designTransmission power system planning and designPower system modelling, load flow and fault level studiesDeveloping generator controller models and transient stability analysisDevelopment and assessment of grid codes and planning and connection standardsIndustrial power system design, including technical and cost assessment of optionsExperience of specifying key electrical equipment parametersProven experience in most of the following areas:-Successful management of projects to time, to budget and to client satisfactionProviding technical lead on projects and proposalsTraining, developing and mentoring other engineersChecking and peer reviewing the work of other engineersDeveloping and maintaining client relationshipsBidding and winning workClear articulation of complex issues to clients in both written and oral form.Experience in any of the following areas will be an advantage:-Transmission and/or distribution equipment design, application, installation and operationHarmonic measurements, analysis and quality of supply issuesLightning and switching surge studiesProtection system design and setting calculationsEarthing system design and studiesLoad forecasting and generation planningGenerator controller response measurements and validation of modelsHVDC system modelling and studiesSmall signal stability analysisResearch and innovation in the power systems fieldPublication of papers in English at conferences or in peer reviewed journalsContribution to relevant professional bodies and societiesAbout UsWe are one of the largest consultancies in the world with a long tradition in Energy and Power projects.
