Saint-Gobain Building Distribution - London and South East - Sales ManagerThe primary role is to generate new business opportunities within Sector remit though effective and professional targeting of customers, establishing and developing business relationships with key customer personnel, and preparation of professional, compelling supply contract tender submissions that leverage the strength of SGBD. Based within a designated geographic territory, the role is to support the objective of delivering continuous sales and profit growth within the SectorWhat are we looking for in a Sales Manager? They would have some of the characteristics below;Previous business development and sales account management experience is preferred, ideally gained within designated market Sector, a builders merchant, retail or multi-site distributor, with proven ability to exceed personal targetCustomer relationship management experience is essentialStrong negotiation and facilitation skills - ‘ability to make things happen’ - without direct authority is essential, as is the ability to solve problemsGood communication and presentation skills at all levels are a must, as are excellent relationship building skills across all levels of management / customerMust be a proven team player with the ability to work on own initiativeMust have proven planning, organisation and time management skillsAbility to interpret reports is essential, as is having a good understanding of budgets, forecasting and tracking customer spend and activityPrevious experience of working with all aspects of sales, e-business, e-procurement is preferredMust be willing to travel as requiredMust reside in or close to London or South EastWhat will you be doing? You will be;Implement national Sector sales strategies in respect of designated remit, as directed by the Public Sector National Sales Development Manager or Sector DirectorTake responsibility for successfully delivering individual performance targetsImplement actions and activity to identify and develop new customer relationships within allocated sector, with the core objective of increasing number of trading customers and significant supply contract wins.
