This is a permanent  full time role working 42 hours per week.This role is 4 x 12 hour day shifts then 4 days off then 4 x 12 hour night shifts On offer is a competitive salary and benefits package.General Overview:The role of the Security Officer is to be part of a team responsible for Site Security on a 24-hour basis. To undertake Security duties in a professional manner and at the same time being efficient and courteous. To maintain a high quality image and standard within the Department. To provide out of hours and weekend cover for Front of House functions.Repoting to Security Supervisor. Main Responsibilities/Duties Include:To ensure the protection of patients, staff, visitors, contractors, and any other legitimate site users’ property against loss, theft and damage.Ensure own safety at all times. The protection of NHS property against loss, theft, damage and waste.To ensure the safety of site users by the preservation of good order.  Protecting those users against any violent or abusive acts and preventing any other actions which may present a hazard.Reporting of any untoward incidents concerning members of staff to the Assistant Facilities Services Manager/Supervisor. To report any criminal acts to the Police and the Assistant Facilities Services Manager/SupervisorThe locking and unlocking of designated areas as and when required.To follow BBW Policy in regard to unauthorised vehicles. Security staff will be expected to maintain, at all times, a standard of personal conduct and deportment in keeping with the nature of their duties and the hospital environment.To deal with staff patients, contractors or any other site users in a polite and courteous manner. To monitor CCTV equipment on a regular basis and to use equipment to identify suspicious/threatening behaviour or activity. To carry our regular patrols of the site and to report any incidents in line with BBW procedures. To monitor/escort patients/visitors upon instruction. To be familiar with local assignment instructions and procedures for reporting incidents. To provide out of hours, weekend and ad hoc cover as required for Front of House Functions, ensuring a courteous and efficient service to users of the service at all times, PC literate.To have an awareness of and adhere to Control of Infection Policies & ProceduresDirect communication on a daily basis with patients, Trust staff, visitors and users of the service.Ad hoc communication with the Police as and when requiredThe post holder has autonomy to manage their duties within their own Section. The post holder is accountable to the Security Supervisor who will on occasion allocate the work area and the duties.For more information about ENGIE please visit: Require Qualifidations & Experience:Qualifidations:SIA Front Line LicenceCCTV Licence (Successful candidate training maybe undertaken by BBW) Skills &  Experience: Effective communication skills, both verbal and written.Excellent customer service skillsAn ability to manage own workload and time.Good organisational skills with the ability to work on own initiative.Flexible and adaptable approach to work.Previous experience working in a security roleExcellent report writing skills. PC skillsThis role requires an enhanced disclosureAn enhanced disclosure contains the following information:All convictions both current and past,Cautions, reprimands and warnings help on the police national computer for England and Wales,Relevant convictions in Scotland and Northern Ireland may be included,Checks against the Children’s and Vulnerable adults barring list,Additional checks for relevant information held by the local police forces for the position being applied for.For this role you must have evidence of right to work in the UK.
