Senior Care AssistantFairburn ChaseKingfisher Unit£7.75 per hour (36-42 hours per week contract)NVQ 2 requiredNVQ 3 and Medication management experience desirable.Fairburn Chase is a 73 bedded specialist home that is made up of 4 differents units: Cygnet which is our 18 bedded Nursing unit, Teal our 11 bedded Nursing unit, Kingfisher our 24 bedded Residential unit and Athena our 20 bedded Residential unit.At Fairburn Chase we offer care and for support  adult service users who present with complex general nursing and complex physical health needs such as, but not exclusively to Cerebral Palsy, Challenging Behavior, Head/Brain Injury, Huntington's Disease, Motor Neurone Disease, Parkinson's Disease and Stroke.There is the opportunity not only to join an exciting, dynamic company that places emphasis on helping people to live the life they want but also to be part of the Fairburn site which also has our two sister homes; Fairburn Mews and Fairburn Vale. It’s a great opportunity to develop collaborative working, skill sharing but also to promote best practice and drive forward excellence in careThis post is for a Senior Care Assistant on Kingfisher Unit, our 24 bedded residential unit forAbout the Role:As a senior care assistant you are at the heart of the nursing team and your enthusiasm, warmth and compassion is a fundamental part in helping our services users to feel respected, included and cared for.The Senior Care Assistant will be in charge of a shift of workers and will take responsibility for the smooth running of the service whilst they are on duty. You will be a positive role model and provide leadership, guidance and support to care workers.An NVQ/QCF level 2/3 in health and social care and a certificate in the safe handling of medication is required for this post.Your duties will include:Promoting choice, independence, dignity and respectAdminister/order medicationAssist with the training of new team membersCommunicate effectively with the nursing teamAssist with on-going assessments on service users, reporting any changesMaintain up to date documentation, care plans, charts, etcEnsure confidentiality at all timesPositively promote the reputation of the home About you……We are looking to recruit a passionate, dedicated and motivated individual to join our team, who will share our vision of enhancing the lives of our service users.
