Through our work, we make a positive difference in the world.  Our UK-based Infrastructure Advisory team undertakes a wide range of work providing strategic advice to infrastructure owners and operators, especially in the rail and highways sectors. Our client base includes government and private asset owners, operators and regulators. We provide expertise in: Strategic and tactical asset managementInvestment and business case supportInformation and systems advice including data analytics Guidance, standards and specifications developmentProcurement and performance requirementsRisk and resilienceTransport policy and strategyCost and efficiency advice Audit and assurance; including maturity assessment for improvement planning We are expanding our technical advice in both the transportation sector and other sectors including water, energy, and aviation. We are looking to strengthen the capability of our Infrastructure Advisory team with this role suited to an individual with a keen interest and track record in the delivery of challenging solutions.  Role Our staff are multi-disciplinary with expertise in science, engineering, statistics, commercial and procurement. Consequently, we have the capability, expertise and mind set to develop solutions applicable to a wide range of problems. We are now seeking an experienced Senior Consultant who would fit into this team and take responsibility to lead projects and drive the effective delivery of strategic advice to our clients. As well as developing robust technical solutions, you will support other team members in business development activities including client requirements capture and producing value generating propositions. You will be expected to fulfil the following responsibilities: Develop and deliver advisory service offerings, including sustainable improvements to the capability, processes and technical elements of our clients businesses.Contribute to client accounts and business development activity working with clients to understand their needs and produce compelling proposals for consultancy servicesDevelop and build strong client relationships and command the confidence of others, internally and externally.Manage projects, commercials and multidisciplinary teams.Engage with other parts of Arup and a range of internal stakeholders to help influence other disciplines on taking a holistic and strategic approach to asset management with our clients including people, process and culture service offerings.Continually seek to broaden knowledge and contact base, including awareness of broader business, economic and political environment. We will support you in your professional development and to gain a broad range of skills, providing you with the opportunity to embrace further responsibility and promotion. Both commercial and technical training is available and encouraged as you gain more experience. Your projects will run for varying lengths of time, providing a diverse working environment. You will have an opportunity to lead and work on projects all over the world, while learning from and contributing to our experienced team.  Requirements and skills Essential Qualificationsa degree or postgraduate qualification in engineering, or a related discipline a professional qualification e.g. Chartered Engineer or equivalent  certificate of Asset Management from the UK Institute of Asset ManagementPRINCE2® Practitioner and AMP Level D Skills & ExperienceExperience of working in an infrastructure sector, including Rail, Highways, Utilities, etc., and knowledge of the issues the sector is facing in the UKExperience in delivering asset information improvement programmes for a UK Highways or Rail clientExperience in providing technical / management / research advice to client organisations specifically in areas such as decision support, information management, asset performance and measurement, risk and value analysis, statistical analysis, multi-criteria analysis, and regulatory monitoring and reporting Excellent communication (written and verbal) and stakeholder management skillsStrong analytical, reasoning and problem solving skillsAbility to think laterally, be creative and develop novel solutions, exhibit innovative thinkingCollaborative working experience  A track record of delivering real and meaningful change and/or process improvement to clients  Experience of bidding and proposal writing  Reward and Benefits: We offer a competitive salary at all levels, and one of the best benefits package in our sector. Core benefits include cover under the UK Healthcare Plan (private medical insurance), Life Assurance, Accident Insurance, and Income Protection (long term disability) cover.
