We are playing a leading role in new nuclear build in the UK to secure a bright future for the combined business and its employees. Vacancy OverviewThe role holder is directly responsible for managing the identification, prospecting, conversion, structuring and negotiation and internal approval of energy solutions contracts with Business customer so as to grow the energy solutions business of EDF Energy and meet the growth targets that have been set.Managing a team of account managers, telesales agents and technical experts, the role holder shall maintain existing and develop new customer relationships to deliver high value and high-quality sales activity for our Customers, as well as for new prospects, across all segments of the I&C business.Strong coordination with the I&C team is key to make sure we are leveraging the existing relationship with our supply customers to develop energy solutions.Responsible for developing synergies with Imtech and identifying opportunities of cross-selling with other EDF Energy EntitiesRecognising the evolution of the operating model and agile nature of the organisation the content and nature of this role may change over time. EDF Energy is an inclusive employer, and although these roles are advertised on a full-time basis as standard, flexible working arrangements will be reviewed and considered in line with our flexible working policyNature and ScopeThe Energy Solution Team is owning the growth of new customer channels and enhancing EDF Energy’s market access and competitive position through the growth of the Energy Solutions business by delivering Flexibility Solutions (DSR), Battery storage solutions, Energy efficiency and energy monitoring solution, and any other energy solution developed by Blue Lab.Energy Solutions Team is responsible for the delivery of gross margin targets of £100M through a balanced portfolio of energy solutions contracts, infrastructure services and metering sales and the delivery of all Energy Company Obligations through the provision of these services to provide customers with a total energy solution. This requires effective sales channel management, innovation, proposition, development to provide an excellent customer experience.The Integrated Solution Sales & Service team are responsible for developing the energy solution business, in coordination with the Large Business Sales Team to bring energy solution to our key business customers, and expand this existing relationship to provide additional services to meet customers changing needs so as to deliver high value and high-quality contracts.The role holder is also responsible for identifying and prospecting new business customers so as to ensure the growth of the energy solution business.The role holder will need to operate across all areas of the business in Customer Operations, Legal, Finance, Risk, Credit, Energy Services and Blue Lab so as to act as the gate keeper who brings new energy solutions from EDF Energy to the customer.Principal Accountabilities* Leading a team who develop and maintain relationships with prospective customers through active stakeholder engagement to grow the energy solution business according to the targets* Utilising a mix of Telesales and Account Managers drive Energy Solution Sales to hit gross margin and product account targets, ensuring all sales are compliant, commercial and provide the best solution for the Customer* Work with Propositions and Blue Lab to build a portfolio of Energy Solution products and then ensure the sales teams have the necessary knowledge to sell the product and the technical expert can provide the necessary support in all the phases of the sales process* Develop and manage a diverse pipeline of customer / contract opportunities to deliver the agreed number of sales in the energy solution business.  * Maintain up to date knowledge of the industry, competitors and potential clients.* Lead the multi-party energy solutions bid process throughout the deal cycle to deliver highly quality, timely and compliant bid response to customers.* Establishing the pricing and structuring strategy of Energy Solutions contracts to achieve sales targets* Lead the commercial negotiation of customer contracts to bring them to close ensuring all necessary internal approvals in a professional and timely manner* Optimise the channels to market (both direct and indirect) ensuring the sales teams comply with the agreed sales processes.* Collaborate with Marketing to develop a range of marketing material and events to promote the energy services offer.  * Deliver significant growth across customer and product segments ensuring effective and efficient operation within agreed budgets, and adhering to corporate standards and governance policies.* Responsible for developing synergies with Imtech and identifying opportunities of cross-selling is an integral part of this team.* Lead a team of energy solution technical experts who are able to support account managers and advise customers on all energy solutions that can support them in their energy optimization journey or their sustainability agenda* Act as part of the Energy Solution Leadership team to ensure resources are coordinated and aligned and identify opportunities for optimising performance both within individual function and across the Energy Solution teams.* Maintaining a strong external profile through active media engagements including social media and conference / event speaking* Responsible for leading, organising, developing and motivating a team with the aim to developing a fast growing energy solution business for EDF Energy,* Drive the Trust agenda forward by ensuring that all decisions affecting customers meet the Trust Test, deliver the desired customer outcomes and provide customers with the ability to make informed choices.Knowledge, Skills, Qualifications, ExperienceKnowledge & SkillsEssential* * Very strong customer services and contract management background with legal knowledge to allow understanding of complex contractual structures.* Understanding of Sales methodologies and commercial Sales processes to allow selling of energy solutions.* Able to effectively demonstrate commercial and business awareness* Must be strongly customer-focused and action oriented, able to react quickly to market information and customer feedback* Able to work effectively across the business unit with strong influencing skills to be able to support analysis and recommendation to senior leaders* Advanced energy market knowledge, both energy and non-energy cost drivers and regulatory and policy issues* Knowledge of issues which drive performance of large businesses (UK PLC)  particularly in relation to corporate and social responsibility, sustainability and low carbon energy and energy efficiency trends* Excellent financial knowledge and ability to understand customers business models and write business cases for tender responses* Senior Stakeholder engagement skills both internally and within customers up to the Finance Director / CPO level* Knowledge of Health and safety regulations governing electrical and mechanical systems and construction* Demonstrable ability to provide inspirational direction and leadership and able to help teams achieve goals and deliver against objectives* Qualifications & ExperienceEssential* Experience in leading a successful and profitable Sales team, including account managers and telesales* Operational experience and management experience of technical engineers and project managers* An education to degree standard or a demonstration of ability to the same level delivered in a working environment* Thorough understanding of the energy industry and the retail industry is required and specifically experience within a driven sales environment* Demonstrable experience of
