Undertaking supervision, safeguarding, complex case and commissioning practices. Practicing as an Approved Mental Health Professional or able to train. Undertaking assessments and reviews in line with The Care Act 2014 and in conjunction with the requirements of the Care Programme Approach.Key responsibilities Undertake assessments of need in line with Care Act, Mental Capacity Act, Care Programme Approach and Mental Health Act where applicable.Arrange effective support and review packages of care.Acting as Safeguarding Manager and where appropriate undertake Safeguarding Enquiries in line with Multi-agency policies and procedures,To identify risks and formulate effective management plans.Undertake MHA assessments as an Approved Mental Health Professional if qualified to do so, or ability to undertake training and practice in this role.Undertake professional supervision including supporting newly qualified social workers.Key RequirementsTo succeed in this role you will need as a minimum:Substantial experience of working as a social worker in a multi-disciplinary Team with adults with mental health needs.Experience of supervising others.Experience of assessing and developing effective support plans.A strong knowledge base of legislation relating to this service area – Mental Health Act, Mental Capacity Act, The Care Act etc.Ability to practice as an Approved Mental Health Professional or ready to undertake training for this role.The post is subject to an enhanced disclosure from the DBS previously known as CRBAbout UsOldham is committed to developing a Co-operative future; one where citizens, partners and staff work together to improve the borough.
