Expectations of service users constantly change and the challenge for Adult Services is to respond to this with innovative solutions to meet individual needs. Adults Service support individuals to live within their local communities; support individuals to access short breaks; provide assessment and care management support from Social Workers within local teams; carry out statutory interventions to have specific needs met related to learning or physical disability and mental ill health in line with Adults with Incapacity, Mental Health and Adult Support and Protection legislation.As a Senior Practitioner you would be expected to contribute to the management of the service whilst taking on specific areas of responsibility and overseeing the work of others.Fife Council pays the Scottish Local Government Living Wage Rate to employees earning less than £8.51 per hour. If the hourly rate of pay for the post is less than the Scottish Local Government Living Wage Rate a supplement will be paid. RequirementsYou must have the ability to travel throughout Fife. Before confirming appointment, you will be required to obtain PVG scheme membership through Disclosure Scotland.You will contribute to the management of the service whilst taking on specific areas of responsibility and overseeing the work of community support service staff, ensuring service users receive a high quality experience of their support service.You will carry out joint social work and health assessments as part of a multi disciplinary team and work with people under 65 years who have complex physical or mental health needs to promote their rights and to achieve better outcomes. You will prepare assessments for Adults between 16 and 65 with complex needs and develop creative care packages designed to meet these needs.Workers should have a post qualifying qualification as a MHO, Practice teacher, Adult Protection certificate,  or equivalent.Before confirming appointment, you will be required to obtain Protection of Vulnerable Groups (PVG) Scheme Membership through Disclosure Scotland.This post is subject to a disclosure check which will be undertaken by Disclosure Scotland. Workers new to role must gain registration with the Scottish Social Services Council (SSSC) within six months of start date in this role.ResponsibilitiesAs a senior Practitioner, you will be expected to support the manager and supervise/manage aspects of the daily operation of the service, overseeing development and making sure the objectives of the service are met.The IndividualYou will be expected to have considerable experience in relevant setting, knowledge of Adult/child protection guidelines, experience of joint working and post qualifying experience.In Fife Council we work to How We Work Matters and you will be responsible for being a role model by displaying and promoting behaviours that are expected of all Council employees:Take ownershipFocus on customersWork togetherEmbrace technology & informationDeliver results For Further Information Please Contact: Evelyn Brown, 03451 555 555 ext 476744 or email  View full job description
