 Keepmoat Regeneration are recruiting for a Senior Quantity Surveyor to be based in Southwark. This is a permanent full time role working 08:00 - 17:00 Monday to Friday. We are passionate about maximising the social and economic benefits wherever we work, which is why we employ local people and suppliers and work closely with our residents.Purpose of the Role:To take responsibility, ownership and accountability of the successful management and control all aspects of the commercial / financial and contractual elements of designated projects within a Division in order to control and maximise the company’s profitability, protect the company’s legal and contractual obligations under the contract and to manage proactively the control of all commercial issues.  This is to include managing other commercial and operational resources, ensuring applications and valuations are completed in line with the contract terms and also ensuring sub-contractors receive prompt payment and are procured in line with our contractual obligations and Commitments to Subcontractors.  In addition ensuring cost reports and the like are managed, completed on time and monitored.  Management of the income of the company on the contracts you are allocated and increase profits by good surveying practice.  Implement and adhere to Engie SHEQ policies and strategies and ensure your reportings do the same.  To understand, implement and adhere to the company SHEQ policy/strategy and ensure all employees reporting to you do the same.Key Responsibilities:To manage a commercial team, and where applicable operation staff as the Senior member of staff on a designated project(s)To provide feedback on deviation from cost billPrepare and accurately forecast final accountsPrepare sub-contract liability statementsEnsure compliance with sub-contract conditionsTo develop strong customer relationships with key clients and their officersTo take overall responsibility and accountability for the commercial elements on a number of contractsTo offer assistance, support and mentoring to other team membersTo assist the Contract Manager with pre-start planning and programmingSub-contract procurement and commercial managementManagement and control of sub-contract accounts and variation accountsChange management controlProfit and delivery maximisation and efficiencyAssisting and liaising with the buyers on materials procurement and buying opportunitiesTo manage the day to day cost control, monitoring and reportingDevelop an understanding of the designated contract, specification and pricing ensuring compliance with conditions throughoutAssist the Contract Manager with subcontractor selection and ensure the chosen subcontractor has the appropriate order and information to carry out their workLiaise with the Contract Manager over contractual issues and take action as requiredMeasure progress, submit valuations, submit final accounts and retention release and monitor receipt of payment in a timely mannerProcess subcontractor requests for paymentCompleting a monthly cost / valuation report and cash flow for the designation projectsWhere appropriate, assist with estimates and negotiations for future projects or phasesAttend project and company related meetingsEnsure the company is neither compromised nor disadvantaged by any contractual or financial arrangementManage the costs on a project to ensure both the company and the client is fully advised of the cost situationTo supervise with all staff, clients, consultants and residents in a professional mannerEnsure timely cash flow management for the Client and the group, and the supply changeAssisting the development and training of trainee and assistant surveyorsMaintaining and developing professional relationships with the Client, to help future business developmentEnsure that proper and composite records are maintainedSufficiently manage the financial aspects of the project to ensure the correct safety equipment is used at all timesBe responsible for your safety and others around youSubmit Change Requests/Variations to ensure additional works are recorded and paid for by the clientNegotiating and Pricing Target Costs for future contracts awarded through Frameworks agreementsValue Engineering pre & post TenderAttend Target Cost Meetings, with client and School key personalReview Drawings for design changes to ensure any changes/ costs are recorded.Any other reasonable management requestFor more information about Keepmoat Regeneration please visit: What we are looking for:EssentialHND / HNC Level in a relevant construction acknowledged courseExperience within a senior surveying position reporting to either a commercial manager or director, with a provenExcellent verbal communication skillsGood level of numeracyGood influencing skillsExperience within a senior surveying position working closely with key members from the client (building and maintaining relationships)Full Clean UK Driving licence DesirableBSc in a recognized construction degreeIT Skills – Ms Office, Excel, Project, Word, etcWhy work for us?At Keepmoat Regeneration we pride ourselves on being a great place to work.
