Do you have experience of working in theatres with good interpersonal and communication skills and a passion for the highest standards of perioperative care &safety? Do you relish working collaboratively within a productive multidisciplinary team to promote the delivery of evidence based, safe patient care? If so, then we would like you to come and join our team. Due to an increase in activity Oxford University Hospitals TSS theatres are looking for passionate &dedicated Nurses and ODPs to work in anaesthetics, surgery and/or recovery. Theatres, Anaesthetics &Sterile Services (TASS) directorate is made up of 23 theatres over 3 Operating Theatre Departments where you can gain a wide variety of experience. Two of the departments are based on the Headington site in Oxford.The John Radcliffe Main Operating Theatre Department (Oxford) is a 5 theatre unit where routine and emergency surgery takes place. Specialties include vascular, emergencies, general, gynae, trauma orthopaedics and spinal surgery. The unit mainly provides care for adult patients but with some paediatrics, and is the theatre suite for Major Trauma. The West Wing Operating Theatre Department (Oxford) is a 14 theatre unit over 2 floors and provides specialist surgery for adults and paediatrics. Specialties are E.N.T., Ophthalmology, Plastics, Neurology, Paediatric – Orthopaedics &General and Max Fax’s surgery. Experienced staff will be encouraged and supported to further develop using the educational and experiential learning opportunities available. The directorate has an experienced education team in place with a comprehensive Education Strategy to underpin the development of all grades of staff within theatres, to facilitate career development and progression. We provide a supportive learning environment which includes preceptorship, supernumerary status while achieving competencies, an in-house perioperative course, support for revalidation and leadership development. We also welcome and support return to practice students.We offer you the opportunity to be based mainly in one department; however moving between theatre suites may be required for training and development or to meet service needs.
