The main Terms and Conditions and employment are available via the same link.RequirementsThe purpose of the Senior Youth Worker role is to work positively with, and lead, youth work teams to engage effectively with young people in their own communities and to contribute towards their learning and development by using a range of educational practices and approaches. Senior Youth Workers will be required to develop, plan and implement learning and educational youth work programmes and activities with young people. The role will also require Senior Youth Workers, as experienced practitioners, to undertake work with young people in more complex and challenging settings as well as have the ability to work on own initiative, as part of a team and in partnership in a range of settings.  Senior Youth Workers will be expected to ensure the safety and security of young people, youth work staff/volunteers and the venue being used.  Regular communication with the Community Education Worker responsible for the project will be essential. The post holder will also be required to complete all administrative tasks relevant to the position and submit to their Line Manager timeously.Before confirming appointment you will be required to obtain PVG scheme membership through Disclosure Scotland.The IndividualThe post holder should have the skills, abilities and knowledge to:work in partnership in a range of settingsplan, develop and deliver learning and educational programmes with young peoplehandle challenging situations positivelyundertake evaluations and written reportsdemonstrate good facilitation skillsengage positively with groups of young people and staffdevelop strong, positive and trusting relationshipsdemonstrate an awareness of young people’s issues and development needsact as a positive role model to young people and youth work teamwork on own initiative and as part of a teamdemonstrate good organisational skillsdemonstrate good time-keeping, be reliable, and prepared to work flexiblymotivate young people and encourage participationdemonstrate good communication skillsrelate to local communityprovide positive youth work experiences for young people Although no formal qualifications are necessary, a SVQ2 or SVQ3 in Youth Work / PDA Youth Work would be desirable.Must be prepared to undertake and complete core training as a requirement of the post within 1 year of appointment. Must be prepared to undertake and complete specialist training as a requirement of the post.The post holder should also be IT literate. For Further Information Please Contact: JP.
