PS Recruitment are looking for two Service Managers for a service in Rusholme and a service in Burnage. The role is to manage teams of staff over more than one service. To be the responsible, accountable individual that ensures that the service/s operate within the guidelines agreed by the services director. To ensure that staff promote service users who have learning difficulties to maximise potential to lead an ordinary life. You will be responsible to and report to the service director.  Salary: £25,000-26,000 Benefits: 1.Pension scheme2.Death in service (6 months)3.Employers assistance programme  The role is full time (42 hours per week) Monday – Friday and occasional weekends/evenings working flexibly to meet the needs of the service. There is also an oncall responsibility with this role.   Duties will include: 1.Responsible for the day to day management of the domiciliary care and support services and the effective management of outcomes of care and support contacts within the agreed service standards and budgetary constraints 2.Responsible for the effective delivery of care and support services that promote choice and independence; actively engaging service users in making decisions about their life 3.Ensure compliance with CQC outcomes, regulatory requirements, best practice and policies and procedures.  4.Promote service user empowerment; working with service users to develop appropriate methods and techniques to enable service users to express their views and inform decisions 5.Ensure that activities and services are developed to meet identified needs that will support individual/community well being and individual and cultural identity 6.Lead and manage teams working with colleges internally and externally to deliver activities and services for service users 7.Lead by example and manage staff teams, ensuring that staff are recruited, inducted, trained and supported through supervision and appraisal in accordance with policies and procedures 8.Take action to manage issues of conduct or capability including formal disciplinary investigations and to resolve issues of grievance in accordance with policies and procedures 9.Contribute positively to working in a team, participating in service delivery reviews and service user meetings 10.Contribute positively to working in a team, participating in service delivery reviews and service user meetings 11. Maximise own personal development by positively contributing to induction, supervision, training, appraisal and team meeting 12.Work with colleagues and service users to share in the domestic tasks that support the overall running of the services including: shopping, preparing meals, maintaining environmental hygiene, undertaking cleaning 13.Work positively and proactively with the team, participating in companywide, external and other events and training 14.Develop positive working relationships with health and social care professionals to support the delivery and development of quality services that meet identified needs of service users 15.Act in a professional manner while on duty 16.Manage services within established/agreed staffing levels 17.Adhere to financial policies and procedures include those on recording, authorisation and cash handling 18.Ensure that financial support given to individuals is appropriate, at the level required and audited to ensure service users finances are safeguarded from any unnecessary risk 19.Manage agreed staffing levels within each of the services.  Accountability and responsibility for the managing of rotas will be the sole responsibility of the Services Manager 20.Managing staff attendance ensuring that the correct hours worked by each individual can be supported and verified at each service 21.Ensure monthly completion of the Monthly Management Report and all associated appendices 22.Ensure that accurate and up to date service user, financial and other relevant service records are maintained 23.Ensure service user files, reports care/support plans and other written documents are accurately completed and understandable 24.Ensure that confidentiality of records and information relating to service users and staff is maintained 25.Minimise risk to service users, self, the team and others by undertaking formal risk assessments, implementing required action plans and maintaining accurate records 26.Ensure the safety and security of the building, including visitors while on duty 27.Comply with all health and safety legislation in respect of food hygiene, moving and handling, the handling and storage of medication, cleaning and chemical storage etc 28.Set targets and standards for service delivery, to monitor against these to ensure continuous improvement. 29.Take action to improve service quality where targets and standards are not achieved Essential attributes: 1.Experience with working at a management level with people with learning difficulties2.Ability and willingness to undertake to undertake personal care3.Understanding of human rights, dignity, privacy, respect and choice4.Basic knowledge of health and safety requirements when supporting vulnerable adults5.Ability to write reports and record information accurately and concisely6.To be able to work flexible hours, including weekends, nights and bank holidays7.NVQ Level 2 in care8.Current full driving licence  Desirable attributes: 1.Experience of working with people whose behaviour challenges services2.To be an effective team leader and team player3.NVQ Level 3 in care 4.Experience in management of finances If you would like more information on this post or want to apply for this role please contact us on 0161 475 1702 or send your CV to:  View full job description
