 Job Description  Job details Job Title: Sessional Support Worker Hours:3 -5 hours Neston : Buzz Group3 -5 hours Frodsham : Buzz Group3 -5 hours Malpas : Buzz Group3 hours Chester : Creative Arts and Drama Group 2-7 hours Ellesmere Port : Buzz Group 5 hours Northwich : Buzz Group2-4 hours Crewe : Buzz Group2-4 hours Macclesfield : Buzz Group   You can apply for any or all of the above hours Salary £10.00-£10.60 per hour Status:Part time  Holiday Entitlement:25 Days per Annum (pro-rata) Responsible To: Melanie Hinde Job purpose  To work alongside staff and volunteers to provide 1-1 support, group support, personal care and administer medication to identified disabled people within a weekly social activity group To deputise for Community Engagement Workers (group coordinators) during period of annual leave and sickness                                 Key Tasks                                    The post holder will: Provide 1-1 support to individual disabled people including  personal care, medication and behavior management as and when required and as directed by the Community Engagement Worker Follow the Community Engagement Workers guidance regarding required conduct and participation at the group Actively engage with disabled people during activity sessions Plan and delivery activity sessions for disabled people as directed by the Community Engagement Worker  Meet with the staff and volunteer team at the beginning and end of each session for briefing and de-briefing Work in-line with relevant group policies including safeguarding policies and procedures Deputise for group coordinator when on leave or during periods of sickness and manage weekly finances/payment of subs Promote inclusion, celebrate diversity, and positively challenge stereotypes. Report any issues or concerns about individual disabled people  including any health and safety or safeguarding concerns to the Community Engagement Team Manager and/or Safeguarding Officer  Attend all mandatory training sessions. Adhere to CCIL’s policies and procedures Attend and participate in regular 1-1 supervision sessions Carry out outreach work across the locality when required to cover periods of absence due to annual leave and/or sickness  Management and support; The post is supervised and managed by the Community Engagement Team Manager at Cheshire Centre for Independent Living Person SpecificationCriteriaEssentialDesirableAssessed ByQualifications / ExperienceProven experience of working with disabled peopleExperience of delivering activity sessions for disabled young people and/or adults  One or more of the following Youth Work  qualificationNVQ qualification Level 2 or above 2 years experience of working with disabled young people and/or adults Experience of providing 1-1 support for disabled people Experience of providing personal care and/or medicationExperience of coordinating activity sessions for disabled young people and/or adults A,I    KnowledgeUnderstanding of safeguarding Understanding of health and safety guidance when delivering personal care and medicationAwareness of the ‘Every Child Matters’ agenda and Equality and Human Rights ActUnderstanding of the Social Model of Disability Understanding of Inclusion for disabled peopleUnderstanding of the Risk Assessment Process  Awareness of the Care Act A,I    Skills/AbilitiesGood oral communication skills with the ability to listen to others.Proven planning, time management and organisational skills.Ability to manage a complex and changing work load.Car user and ability to drive with or without assistanceHighly self motivatedAbility to work on own initiative Strong interpersonal skills including an ability to enthuse and convince othersGood written communication skills Good IT skills A,I    OtherCommitment to the inclusion of disabled  people in their local communityAs the role requires the post holder to work with vulnerable people all successful applicants will be subject to an enhanced DBS check  A,I  View full job description
