It is with their dedication, passion and hard work that we can deliver excellent care programs that truly benefit the patients.Elysium Healthcare has a network of 22 sites strategically placed across England and Wales.Arbury Court is a 74 bedded unit spanning over 6 wards, specialising in Medium and Low Secure services for women over the age of 18 with mental illness or personality disorder. Our Staff Nurse role involves: Adhering at all times to the NMC code of professional conduct.Conducting a legal, ethical, and accountable practice and remain open to the scrutiny of peers.Respecting the rights of others sensitively, and with regard to issues of equality and diversity. Promoting ethical practice in others.Being aware of and working within current legislation, government, and local policy, including the Mental Health Act.Maintaining health, safety, and security within legislative requirements and in adherence to identified standards and local policy.Contributing to the achievement of Clinical Governance and maintenance of Standards for Better Health.Recognising the value of effective communication, and the potential for developing therapeutic relationships, effective teamwork, interdisciplinary working, and customer care.Utilising effective communication to develop professional therapeutic relationships, optimise patient engagement, and facilitate interdisciplinary working.Managing sensitive communication with appropriate support.Contributing to the comprehensive assessment of a patient.Compiling a holistic plan of care in partnership with the individual.Compiling a positive risk management plan.Monitoring and review individualised patient plans within an evidence based framework.May contribute to pre-admission assessment of referred patient.Leading a shift under direction.Delegating appropriately.Acting as a role model for best practice.Prioritising, organising, and deploying under direction.  Resources to meet the requirements of the ward for the duration of a shift.Understanding and working within professional boundaries.Committing to the promotion of basic living skills within a forensic mental health care setting.Contributing to the delivery of evidence based therapeutic interventions as agreed by the interdisciplinary team.Managing medication as per hospital policy.Contributing to health promotion within the ward environment. In addition, higher level nurses will be expected to: Maintain and support and promote compliance with current legislation, government, and local policy including the Mental Health Act.Promote health, safety, and security within legislative requirements and in adherence to identified standards and local policy.Promote the implementation of Clinical Governance and Standards for Better Health.Manage sensitive and contentious communication, referring complex issues as appropriate.Promote effective communication with a range of stakeholders.Promote a culture in which the assessment, planning, and review of care plans are delivered effectively within the broader responsibilities of the key worker.Act as key worker for a designated group of patients and as associate nurse as required.Compile and promote positive risk management plans for patients.Participate in interdisciplinary pre admission assessment of referred patients.Respect the role and function of the team and accept and promote collective responsibility for team decisions.Operate effectively as a team member.Promote effective decision making.Act as mentor/preceptor and promote the development of student nurses and other members of the team.Assess junior staff nurses within the competency development programme.Accept responsibility for leading a shift in the absence of a team leader.Delegate appropriately.Be change oriented and promote innovative evidence based practice.Listen and facilitate team working.Promote implementation of legal and professional standards and audit recommendations.Provide clinical supervision and appraisal to junior staff nurses and health care workers as appropriate.Promote effective and efficient use of resources within set budgets. Understand and work within professional boundaries.Promote and commit to the delivery of basic living skills within a forensic mental health care setting.Participate in the delivery of evidence based interdisciplinary programmes of care.Support junior staff in their contribution to therapeutic interventions as agreed by the interdisciplinary team.Manage medication as per hospital policy.Contribute to health promotion within the ward environment.Apply recognised therapeutic interventions e.g., PSI.  To be successful as a Registered Mental Health Nurse, you’ll need: Pre-registration – complete / Preceptorship. In addition, higher level nurses will need: Significant experience of provision of holistic care / experience of range of specialist services / experience of assessor / mentor role.Experience of secure environment.Experience of prioritising key tasks in relation to sphere of work.Experience of interdisciplinary teamwork and coordination of care.Experience of assessing and teaching junior staff.
