What is the purpose of the role? An experienced Stock Asset Manager is required to join our growing Logistic operations team in Reading, Berkshire. This role will be to work for one of the UK's largest utility companies. If you have experience of managing a similar tool or hire business- that's great- but if you don't then don't discount yourself! The most important qualities in our Hire Manager will be a focus on sales with a proven track record, and a reputation for delighting customers. The successful candidate may come with knowledge about the products we offer or simply a willingness to learn however they must be self-motivated, driven, and able to make the most of this fantastic opportunity by taking on full operational and management responsibility for the Hire element of the Branch. What makes this role unique? The Inventory Asset Manager will have responsibility for the internal hire inventory for the company. In this role, you will drive performance and service offering of the Logistics hire inventory by proactively identifying utilisation opportunities and building great relationships with key operational colleagues. Your enthusiastic approach will enable you to lead and motivate other staff to ensure the Logistics team utilisation is maximised and customer service is second to none in a safe environment. What will this role involve? You will ensure that the Inventory Hire Portfolio is always ready to go. Inventory Hire portfolio is maintained in line with guidelines and to the company standards. Effective management of New Product Introduction for additions to the Inventory Hire Portfolio. Achieve Inventory Hire benefits and ongoing Inventory Hire KPI improvement. Promote the Inventory Hire business building customer relationships. Ensure real time utilisation of Hire Inventory and proactive management of de-hire of Inventory. Ensure all Inventory Hire related health and safety issues adhered to. Work with Inventory Operations and Logistics Operations to ensure the Hire transport operation, distribution and safety issues are operated within legal and company guidelines. Ensure Hire Fleet is maintained to the company standards. Work with Inventory Operations to manage the security of the hire inventory and safeguard against theft of company goods. Complete company reports, audits and stock takes as required. What are we looking for? Ideally you will have experience of use of mobile or inventory assets used within the utilities market. Technical knowledge of company mobile assets such as pumping equipment, generators etc. is required due to the nature of the role. You will have strong commercial and financial acumen, be a self-starter, with the ability to work in a decentralised team. Previous experience in the equipment hire sector is desirable. You will represent and uphold Thames Water's values when dealing with difficult and complex situations, so you must have sound communication skills and be able to work independently. You will make good decisions regarding workload prioritization and be able to identify issues that need to be escalated. Thames Water information and salary details This role is based at our offices in central Reading, Berkshire. We are offering a salary of up to £30,000 depending on experience.
