We have a vacancy supporting adults for a full-time Support Worker in the Great Sutton area of Ellesmere Port. This position is for 38 hours per week. About the roleIn this service MacIntyre supports 3 people (aged from 58 - 63) with profound and multiple learning disabilities and physical support needs. You will play a key part in assisting them to live as independently as possible supporting all aspects of daily living (e.g. cooking, cleaning, gardening, shopping, health needs, family contact, appointments and personal care choices).You will join in with their favourite pastimes and hobbies, helping them be active members of their local community. Activities might include going out for meals, shopping, sensory engagement, soft play, out for walks or coffee, attending events, trips to attractions, and 1:1 interactions in house.Because of the complexity of their learning disabilities, some people require help with personal and intimate care including some continence issues. They can display some mild challenging behaviour but you will be given Positive Behaviour training to facilitate positive outcomes. The work can be demanding and doesn't suit everyone, but if it's right for you, you'll find it incredibly rewarding and valuable. We will provide you with full training and with day-to-day help and advice from your Frontline Manager and Senior Support Workers.You'll take your turn working shifts on a rota, including days, evenings, nights, weekends, bank holidays and sleep-ins (1 or more per week). You will also be asked to cover the Waking Nights shift sometimes. What we need from youExperience is not necessary, as we provide a full induction and free training programme, so this role is suitable for a trainee. People join us from many different backgrounds, it's more important to us that you have a positive approach and are willing to learn.It is essential for these positions that you hold a full manual driving licence which allows you to drive in the UK, as you will be required to drive the service vehicle (Minibus with tail lift adapted to carry wheel chairs).Pay and RewardsMacIntyre offers a full induction and ongoing training, including the opportunity to gain nationally recognised qualification (The Care Certificate).
