Are you looking for a job where you can really make a difference?We are seeking an enthusiastic and dedicated support worker to join the team at this service providing support for adults with learning disabilities and associated health needs. Main responsibilitiesThe people we support are at the heart of everything we do - they are wonderful individuals and deserve to be treated with respect, dignity and choice.  Our main priority, therefore, is to find support workers with values, behaviours and attitudes to match our own.Could this be you?Your duties will be varied and no two days will be the same.  You'll be providing support for day-to-day living, such as social activities, sports and hobbies, employment, holidays etc along with support with general household duties such as cooking, cleaning and money management.  In some services, you may be required to undertake personal care.Our services operate 24/7, so you will work in shifts (as allocated by your manager).  This means you may need to work early mornings, late evenings, weekends and bank holidays.  You may also be required to undertake sleep-in shifts on a rota basis.Please note that due to arrangements with the local council, we are able to pay a higher rate for hours where you are actually on shift at this service.  During annual leave or training you will be paid at the lower salary band for this service.  If you work a shift at a nearby service, or transfer, you will be paid at the prevailing rate for that service.Once you apply, you may be presented with a few questions.  Please take the time to read and answer them as honestly as possible.Ideal candidateWe believe that a successful Support Worker doesn’t always have experience, but shares our vision to ensure that ‘every moment has potential’ for the people we support to learn new skills and to achieve their goals.Basic numeracy and literacy skills as well as good English are a must.An NVQ/Diploma L2 or 3 in Health and Social Care and some experience in care work would be an added bonus, but we have a fantastic in-house training team who can help you along if you are taking your first steps in your career as a support worker.Above all you need to be kind, caring and ready to work as a team to ensure that our services are comfortable, happy, fulfilling and safe places to live.About the companyWe are a leading provider of care and support for adults with learning disabilities and associated complex needs, including autistic spectrum conditions, mental health needs, challenging behaviour, profound and multiple learning disabilities and epilepsy.The people we support live in homely, family-like residences, and are encouraged to participate fully in the local community.CMG is committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of all the people we support, adults and children, and expect all staff to share this commitment.Why work for CMG?In addition to your salary, our benefits package includes: a pension scheme paid annual leave (28 days including bank holidays, rising to 30 days after 1 year) reward/recognition schemes a generous staff discount and benefits schemeWe also have excellent opportunities for career progression.
