As a Team Leader within Affinity Trust you will have the opportunity to balance your passion for directly supporting people with learning disabilities with developing into a first rate manager. The role is still hands on so you will still be able to work directly with the people we support as well as leading and promoting high quality, outcome-focussed, support services.It is envisaged that your role will be spread across a number of supported living properties and you will need to co-ordinate rotas and provide supervisory support to teams of Support Workers. Good personal organisation skills are essential for this post therefore. The successful candidate will be expected to demonstrate a commitment to the principles and values of;-Person centred supportPositive Behaviour SupportLeast restrictive optionsSupported LivingCommunity presenceIncreased independencePositive risk takingPromoting rights and independence.All of the people we support have a learning disability but many have associated health needs, dementia, physical disabilities, profound and multiple learning disability, mental health needs or behaviours that may challenge. The ideal candidate will have:-Relevant experience of working with adults with learning disabilities, complex needs, Mental Health needs and potentially behaviours that may challengeThe ability to support teams in challenging environmentsKnowledge and skills in support planning and risk assessmentExperience of working towards achieving outcomes for people with learning disabilitiesGood understanding of ITBe outgoing and able to motivate, delegate effectively and prioritiseA QCF Level 3 in Health & Social Care, an equivalent award or a willingness to work towards this.Team Leaders will be required to work a mix of different direct support and administrative shifts and will need to work a mixture of day shifts, evening shifts, weekends and Bank Holidays with occasional Waking Night or sleep-in duties as per the requirement of the services they manage.
