Technical Content WriterLocation: Fowlmere, CambridgeshireSalary: Competitive, DOEContract: Permanent, Full timeHours: Monday to Friday 8:30am to 5:00pmThis position arising from the global growth of Ion Science Ltd will be crucial in the writing and production of technical documentation, resources and content that helps people understand, use and service our products. Written documentation and resources will include instrument and service manuals, brochures, technical application articles, white papers, as well as a number of online resources.This position is open to both entry level and experienced level applicants and would be ideal for anyone wanting to utilise their technical writing skills and learn and develop within an innovative company. The ideal individual will possess an interest in electronics and take pride in producing technical material and content in a professional and accurate manner.Technical Content Writer - The Role:- Overseeing, writing and editing Instrument User Manuals, Service Manuals and Quick Start Guides- Overseeing, writing and editing content for Instrument and Application brochures- Overseeing, writing and editing a range of articles including Technical / Application Articles, White Papers and Top Tips- Writing and editing technical content for online resources such as the company website, distributor portal, blog and email communications in line with the department's inbound content plan- Arranging the translation of content, documentation and all required materials- Ensuring up to date versions of all documentation and material are made publicly available and communicated to our customer base- Researching and collating technical information for new resources- Organising photographs and illustrations to support written material- Ensuring content material developed is clear and easy to read with global markets in mind- Proof reading of written material within the departmentTechnical Content Writer - The Person:This is a customer facing role and the person appointed will:- Exceptional written communication skills- Excellent levels of attention to detail- Willingness to learn and assist others- Strong content planning abilities- The ability to structure information logically- High levels of initiative- Adaptable and possessing an excellent work ethic- Proficient in Microsoft WordIt would be an advantage for candidates to possess the following; however these are not essential, as training will be provided for the successful candidate as and where necessary:- Have relevant experience of user behaviour (how people read and absorb information)- Have previous experience in project management- Hold qualifications in electronics, chemistry or geology- Have qualifications in technical writing / publishing- Have experience in a technical or manufacturing backgroundBenefits:This position offers good terms and benefits including: - good basic salary, 21 days + Bank holidays annual holiday increasing with service, Pension, Healthcare, Bike Scheme Life Assurance and share options.Working Hours:This is a full time position and working hours are Monday to Friday 8:30am to 5:00pmIf you have the required skills and experience, click on APPLY and forward your current CV and covering letter, with salary details, explaining why you are a good fit for this role.No agencies please.
