What is the purpose of the role?You will be responsible for making sure that the upfront design and co-ordination of work is in place to make sure that Technicians have prerequisites in place in advance, allowing them to start the work as scheduled. This means maintaining the required standard to make sure our statutory obligations are met and that availability and associated performance are maintained.What makes this role unique?This is a fantastic opportunity to join the team in providing a high level of critical services to our customers across London. The role will allow you to support the field technicians in maintaining our large strategic pumping stations sites to ensure all assets remain operational 24 hours a day 365 days a year. Your engineering skills and experience along with training provided will mean you can drive performance whilst ensuring health and safety remains your number one priority.What will this role involve?You will be responsible for planning work via SAP and making sure that the relevant skill sets are scheduled in and coordinated. You will make sure all tools and materials are made available in order for work to be completed, ensuring the costs are within budget. You will be responsible for the understanding of health & safety requirements of jobs. You will need to proactively seek to understand asset care plans and asset criticality. You will coordinate deliveries by chasing suppliers and coordinating the receiving receipting process, providing specialist technical advice where appropriate with up to date technical knowledge. You will provide training support for technical trainees, will be involved in all team huddles and will contribute with current issue's/resolutions.What are we looking for?The ideal candidate will have relevant experience within maintenance and/or within the water industry. The roll will involve needing to be highly logical and collaborative as you will need to be able to work closely with planners, field performance managers, suppliers and 3rd parties. Being technically experienced with a good understanding of how to maintain assets will be advantageous to the roll as would electrical experience. Being meticulous at documenting the finer details of what needs to take place, being able to manage your work under pressure. Strong communication skills and good decision making abilities along with being competent with IT systems is key. Clean driving licence is essential as the role involves travelling.Thames Water information and salary detailsThis role has a flexible base location inside the M25 corridor and is offering a salary of up to £35,000 depending on skills and experience.
