Role ProfileTEMPORARY UNTIL 31ST MARCH 2018ROLE DEFINITIONTo undertake various financial, practical, storage and support requirements within NACs Temporary Accommodation. KEY TASKS AND RESPONSIBILITIESCorporate Responsibilities• To undertake individual role in line with the Council’s Strategic Priorities and in compliance with the Council’s corporate policies and procedures. • To undertake any other reasonably required duties as instructed by Management or someone acting on their behalf, in addition to the role specific tasks & responsibilities detailed below.Role Specific Tasks & Responsibilities • Liaise with Council departments/agencies as required in dealing with Financial aspects within Temporary Accommodation; Revenues, Benefits, Community Care, Scottish Welfare Fund, Furnished Tenancy Grants and Universal Credit • Be the point of contact for Universal Credit enquiries and liaise with other relevant agencies. • Monitor, report and manage any Rent Arrears for all Temporary Accommodation units following the Rent Arrears Escalation Policy. • Manage the setting up and maintenance of all temporary accommodation units. • Monitor and maintain stock levels and re order as required ensuring a detailed record of all processes is kept • Be responsible for storage of goods and liaise with Support Workers on the management and storage of personal belongings. • Liaise with Service Contractors/Support Workers for major work/maintenance programmes for North Ayrshire Council Temporary Accommodation. • Monitor/report on Service contracts for North Ayrshire Council Temporary Accommodation. • Contribute to inter-agency working with Throughcare Services to provide interim housing for Care Leavers. • Provide relevant services as contained within Throughcare Protocol as required. • Attend pathway planning meeting for Care Leavers and provide housing support whilst in accommodation. • Manage and processing Care Leavers applications on Arbritas system. Case Managing Care Leavers Temporary Accommodation through to permanent re-housing. • Manage all service users’ information in a sensitive and confidential manner and in accordance with the relevant legislation, e.g. Data Protection, Freedom of Information. • Participate and contribute to the development and review of policies and procedures. • Assist the Temporary Accommodation Manager to deliver delegated performance targets, in accordance with the Performance Management Framework. • Assist the Temporary Accommodation Manager to monitor financial performance of Temporary Accommodation budgets include Government Procurement Cards. • Assist Temporary Accommodation Manager with specialist projects to meet statutory/regulatory responsibilities. • Liaise closely with and have an active input in working with other professionals in developing and delivering services. • Participate and carry out training of specialist projects in relation to Temporary Accommodation. • Undertake any other duties as determined by the Temporary Accommodation Manager.
