Applicants will need to meet the required entry level qualifications as stated on the job description and person specification.The assistant practitioner training course will commence in March 2018 and will last for around 12 months. We ask that candidates are flexible and during the training period able to commit to minimum working hours of 22.5 hours per week in order to undertake the training and gain the necessary competencies. During your training period you will be paid at band 3 rate of pay and on successful completion of the programme will then transfer to a band 4 assistant practitioner post within the Trust.Once qualified you will be responsible for the provision of care for a cohort of patients under the delegation and supervision of a registered nurse, including assisting with the continuous assessment and evaluation of care, performing care risk assessments, assisting with admission and discharge processes. You will provide a range of clinical duties under the guidance and supervision of the team leader/nurse in charge including: personal hygiene and comfort, vital signs and EWS, early recognition and escalation of acutely ill patients, safe transportation, fluid balance monitoring, enteral feeding/ meeting nutritional needs, ECG, wound dressings, removal of sutures/clips, catheterisation, venepuncture, cannulation.Interview date: Friday 1st December at Chorley &South Ribble HospitalThis advert closes on Tuesday 7 Nov 2017 View full job description
