Being part of our team will involve you working alongside our engaged frontline expert staff who are passionate about providing truly unique person centred care.We now have an excellent opportunity for an Individual Support Worker WAKING NIGHT to join us at our Residential Centre in Ashford.WHAT IS NEEDED TO BE AN INDIVIDUAL SUPPORT WORKER-WAKING NIGHTAs a waking night support worker you'll need to be patient, caring and a great communicator. You will attending to the needs of the people we support and ensuring their well-being and safety during the night, as well as assisting them in getting up in the morning to wash, dress and prepare their choice of breakfast.You will monitor those we support by carrying out periodic bedroom checks throughout the night. You will also assist those who have not retired to bed or comfort those who wake and help to reduce any distress or anxiety which may be preventing them from sleeping. This may include preparing drinks or light snacks if required.It is imperative that the waking night support worker remains alert throughout the shift. When not attending the people we support you will be required to undertake light domestic duties, such as general cleaning and ironing. There is also some important admin/tasks to do as well, such as dispensing and recording medicines for the people you are supporting, along with updating support records on our computer system.You will be supported by either another waking night support worker or there will be a sleep-in staff member who you can all on in the case of an emergency.The successful candidate will also have the following experience and qualifications:The successful candidate will have the following experience and qualifications:ESSENTIAL SKILLS:A positive and compassionate attitude towards careEnergetic approach to support with social activitiesExcellent communication skills Willingness to learnTeam playerDESIRABLE SKILLS:Experience of working in challenging behaviour servicesNVQ Level 2 or higher in Health and Social Care (Adults)Experience and/or knowledge of epilepsyWHAT YOU CAN EXPECT AS AN INDIVIDUAL SUPPORT WORKER - WAKING NIGHT:An immensely satisfying careerComprehensive induction training and career progression33 days holidayCompany sick payHealth and life benefits packagePension Scheme Summary DetailsJOB TITLE - Individual Support Worker - Waking NightSalary - £16,000.00 per annum (Additional £60 per Sleep In if applicable)Hours - 37.5 hours per week on averageShift - Sun, Mon, Fri, Sat and then Tues, Wed, Thurs - Will/May include some sleep in's.A two week rolling rota of split shifts, which also includes long days, weekends and sleep in's.
