We are looking to recruit both experienced and non-experienced Weekend Support Workers in Watford and surrounding areas to join our experienced teams to work in our clients children’s residential homes and semi Independent Living settings over the weekends. We are looking for flexible, reliable and interactive individuals who want to work within a specialist environment.  This position requires working within a residential or semi-independent living setting, working with children and young adults, 11-18 year olds who have been placed in the care system for various reasons. For this role patience and empathy is vital, as you will be supporting young people with a range of behavioural and emotional difficulties. It is essential that the ideal candidate has the ability to adapt and match the pace of the young people, as well as building relationships on the foundations of trust, respect and compassion. As no two days are the same, the ideal candidate needs to have the drive to take each day as it comes, and the perseverance to understand the roots of even the most challenging behaviours. Ideal candidates need to be patient, understanding and work with a non-judgmental approach and be able to work well with both a core team and alone.   This is a great opportunity for those that are looking to gain experience and training in this sector as well as having the opportunity to gain further qualifications. Job Role·         Maintaining a safe and positive living environment ·         Teaching basic life skills and living skills such as budgeting, shopping, cleaning ·         Setting rules and boundaries for young people's behaviour ·         Interacting and taking part in social activities ·         Providing support and guidance ·         Helping young people to deal with problems and become independent ·         Liaising with social workers, nurses, police and other multi agencies. ·         Keeping accurate records and write reports·         Having excellent communication, time management and organization skills ·         Working in a team and also alone when needed  Requirements ·         All positions hold a minimum age requirement of 21 years in accordance to national minimum standards·         A driving licence is essentialfor this position as you may be required to drive the unit car to escort the young people tosocial activities and family contacts Training and qualifications including Team Teach; Child Protection; Understanding Sexualised Behaviour; Working with Self Harm and Understanding Autism and ADHD are provided to the right candidates. All candidates must successfully complete the induction assessment training as part of candidate compliance, prior to any placements being offered.Please note that you would be required to complete an enhanced DBS with Fulbridge Social Care at a cost of £57 met by the applicant or provide a portable DBS.
