Job Description – Children in Need Project Post Title-Youth WorkerResponsible to-Lead Youth WorkerLocation  -Hardwick, Stockton-on-Tees                                  Job Purpose:  To assist with the delivery and development of a programme of youth work three evenings per week, providing activities, services and initiatives which are aimed at developing social education and improving the life chances of young people living in the Hardwick area of Stockton-on-Tees.    Main Duties and Responsibilities:  ?                   To assist in the delivery of a programme of centre based, outreach and detached activities, services and initiatives  ?                   To build positive relationships with young people in order to develop their ability to maximise their life chances ?                   To work directly with young people in their personal, social and economic development. ?                   To assist in the delivery of issue based youth work in order to challenge negative behaviour and attitudes ?                   To work alongside young people to identify and develop new programmes and new ideas which are reactive to their needs ?                   To encourage participation and decision-making opportunities for young people so they are equipped and able to influence the continued work of the project ?                   To assist in the planning, risk assessment, monitoring and evaluation of the project  ?                   To support delivery of services in an environment that is safe and secure and where the safeguarding and welfare of young people is considered at all times. ?                   To follow guidelines and implement policies as required for the running of the project, these include Health & Safety, Child Protection, Equal Opportunities and any other relevant to the activity. ?                   To attend service inductionand supervision as and when required ?                   To carry out other duties relevant to the role as directed by the Lead Youth Worker              Health & Safety ?                   To ensure that the youth work is delivered in an environment that is in line with requirements relating to health and safety, security and finance  ?                   To observe Hardwick in Partnership Ltd policies and procedures  Training and Development ?                   To undertake training, where identified as necessary, to develop the job role or the furtherance of the project?                   To identify own training needs and develop an agreed programme of personal development to meet those needs  Equal Opportunities ?                   To promote, including by personal example, Hardwick in Partnership’s Equalities Policy.?                   To demonstrate a commitment to equal opportunities by ensuring that services are inclusive and delivered in a manner which welcomes and values diversity    The duties and responsibilities outlined in this job description are indicative of the role, however they are not exhaustive and may be subject to change.  In addition, the post holder may be required to undertake such other duties and/or hours of work as may be reasonably required and which are consistent with the level of the post and needs of the project   View full job description
