A Management Accountant is sought to deliver pro-active financial, commercial and business advisory support in an efficient and effective manner to the Legion's 6 Care Homes, 4 Break Centres, the Admiral Nurse service and the Defence Recovery Centres (referred to collectively as 'the units'). Reporting into the Finance Manager (Operations), this role provides an exciting opportunity to work in an 'embedded' role within the Operations division. You will work with the Assistant Director and Management Teams to deliver both tactical and strategic business development plans. Your responsibilities will include:? Providing financial, commercial and business advisory support and expertise to colleagues at all levels within the units;? Producing, reviewing and distributing monthly management accounts and other periodic financial reports to tight deadlines;? Attending monthly management meetings to present consolidated and departmental monthly financial results;? project managing the submission of (and undertaking regular monitoring and interpretation of performance against) operating, capital and cash flow budgets for each of the units;? Working with each unit to produce a quarterly financial forecast and to financially evaluate their longer-term strategic plans.The successful candidate must be a professionally qualified accountant with a strong management accounting background, solid experience in monthly reporting, budget preparation and forecasting and a track record of supporting internal clients who have extensive external client facing service responsibilities. You will have an analytical approach and exceptional communication skills able to influence, challenge and build relationships at all levels. Whilst prior charity sector experience is not essential, it is vital that you demonstrate alignment with the Legion's values. Those from a practice or commercial background are encouraged to apply.
