It is ideal for someone with experience of working alongside volunteers in a supervisory capacity, supporting and training them to fulfil their roles. An understanding of the communication and support needs of volunteers to ensure excellent volunteer retention is essential, as well as experience of successful group facilitation. You will ensure they have the correct telephony and technology in place to carry out their roles and will take responsibility for ensuring adequate Helpline cover at all times. You too will spend some of your time responding to enquiries on the national Helpline via telephone and email, providing accurate, person-centred support, sensitively and will use this knowledge to carry out debrief, training and quality monitoring with the Helpline Support Volunteers. The role will require you to work one evening every two months to provide Support groups, and occasional evening training/supervision to allow those who work/have daytime commitments to get the same training and support.You will also manage two Support &Wellbeing Facilitators staff, who will assist you with the Helpline Support Volunteers, as well as providing confidential support to staff and volunteers who are community facing. Reporting to the Helpline Services Manager, you will be part of the Helpline management team and will assist with the day to day running of the Helpline, have budgetary responsibilities and be a member of the safeguarding responders group.You will also need to problem solve, juggle a busy and varied workload and will be required to contribute to the development of the Helpline Services portfolio.
