Post: Residential Child Care Worker (level 1) - Full Time (37 hours per week) Please mark on the application the post you wish to apply for.Salary for full time post starting at £14,137 per year Main Purpose: Under the supervision of a more senior member of staff, to contribute to all aspects of the physical and emotional care of the child(ren) so as to promote their welfare whilst working in partnership with the family and other professionals. Main Activities: 1. Develop and sustain effective working relationships with the local community, colleagues and other agencies so as to promote collaborative working and partnerships.2. Contribute to the effective and efficient use of the physical and financial resources. 3. Comply with the legal requirements relating to services and financial regulations of the organisation.4. Receive, transmit, store and retrieve information in line with good practice and organisational policy and procedure.5. Ability to promote and support children in education.6. Contribute to the effective physical, social and emotional environment for group care which provides a safe, nurturing and stimulating environment in which children and their families can be offered the support, care and guidance they need.7. Contribute to the protection of children from abuse; evaluate the risk of abuse, failure to protect and harm to self and other people and ensure that all matters regarding the care and management of young people are reported in line with organisational policy and procedure. 8. Contribute to the promotion of the individuals’ health and social well being; assist the individual to maintain a positive sense of self and identity which will include promoting and maximising their educational opportunities and achievements.10. Contribute to the assessment of the individuals’ needs and circumstances and in the development, provision and review of care programmes which meets these.11. Implement a framework for the prevention and management of individual’s behaviour.12. Enable and support children to participate in recreation and leisure activities.13.
