~~Shop Floor Manager (111jc) – Harlow, Essex - £25-30k My client is an expanding specialist exhibition and graphics production company that offer innovative production services are now seeking a Shop Floor Manager to join their team. You will be reporting to Head of Production and your main duties will include:- • To manage and lead the team in allocating workload and managing the day to day operations on the shop floor. • Responsible for job allocation and job flow in the workshop including job scheduling and labour allocation for day to day operations to meet the required deadlines. • Oversee production of all orders and ensure the accurate and timely completion of all jobs. • To co-ordinate resources and liaise with internal and external key contacts to ensure work is delivered on time and to a high quality standard. • Ensure that the Works Order notes are completed and timings logged by the specific finisher, along with the Shop Floor Quality Check Sheet. • Be responsible for quality of all jobs leaving the shop floor and manage quality issues in all aspects of production and workshop operation, making sure everything is recorded, logged and resolved. • Keep track of the Production Schedule / WIP and ensure that the information it contains is both current and up to date in relation to current and completed works. • Liaise and work closely with the Print Manager to ensure that media is printed in conjunction with the Production Schedule to pre-empt potential problems with suitable solutions. • Liaise with the Installations Manager regarding completed works and ensure that all objectives of the Works Order in relation to finishing are complete and clearly labelled for the install team. • Analyse forthcoming Works Orders and identify possible problems in relation to stock / finishing thus avoiding potential issues arising. • Implement effective housekeeping and workshop management systems such as stock control and storage. Weekly stock takes to be completed and updated in the system. All stored items that come back from specific jobs to be documented, stored and catalogued for anyone to find. • Source and arrange for supply of materials and cost-effective use of materials and equipment in the workplace. • Maintain basic working stock levels by implementing regular stock checks and pre-empting stock orders through the purchasing department. • Continue the ongoing development of the Workshop facility. • To multitask, manage high stress situations and resolve issues efficiently. • Communicate effectively, motivate and inspire all members of the finishing team and with other departments. • Co-ordinate resources, schedules and activities to effectively manage jobs. • Manage inward goods, checking quantities and dispatching goods. • Regularly report progress on each job and quickly communicate delays or concerns to relevant managers. • Act as a technical adviser on key projects and other areas of the business as requested. • Work with the managers to investigate customer complaints and concerns arising from products and suggest appropriate solutions. Discuss with team to identify appropriate course of action to resolve. • Help to streamline processes and communication throughout the business creating an efficient, productive, informed and motivated work force. • Complete all paperwork relating to time tracking, for Shuttleworth, so that details around costing of jobs can be captured and imputed into the system.
